User relay to switch appliance

    Hey Guys,

    At home we have a 5A circuit for lighting alongside the regular circuit. We also have a regular light unit that isn't compatible with the 5A circuit (Halogen, Dimmable etc).

    Just wondering could I wire up a relay to be switched from the 5A circuit but have the light powered from the regular circuit?

    The reason for this is the 5A circuit has it's own wall switch to control all lights. It'd be nice to get the incompatible light on the 5A.

    Im not 100% sure what you are asking. Is the 5 amp circuit being dimmed?

    What makes you think your light will not work on the 5A circuit are you sure its not just a matter of changing the plug..

    If the 5amp circuit is being switched from a standard switch on the wall just change the plug to a 5AMP plug top. If the wall switch is a dimmer, to control the 5amp sockets then the lamp should not have a dimmer switch on it too. So basically just one dimmer on the circuit!
