Hi, I was just looking for anyone who nows anything about getting laser hulls fixed up. It is one the old 70's ones, but since i got it has been letting in water and being difficult to handle.
If anyone knows people in the south Corkarea ( Monkstown, Cobh, Crosshaven down to Kinsale)who would be able to fix it that would be great help.
Alternatively, if anyone knows somebody trying to sell a laser HULL, not sails or foils, as long as it isn't ancient and preferably comes with a trolley.

or http://crosshavenboatyard.com/services/ but I think they only work on bigger boats worth a call as work is work these days:D

If you want to have a go at doing it yourself post some photos of where you think the leak is and I will try and talk you through it.

I had an old laser years ago and she leaked a good bit. There are two common areas that I have experienced with Lasers. Where the mast steps into the hull is a likely place, because there are no Stays, there is waggons of preasure on that place and cracks can be common, this won't explain large leakes though.

Have a look along the gunwales, this is where mine leaked (a lot). They can get damaged from bangs and scrapes over the years and this is where the mould seals the top deck onto the bottom hull - if you have a crack/hole along here it will fill up the hull quickly.

Mine was a pig when water got in. If you are not looking for a superstar job, you can easlily glass this yourself - does not have to be pretty.
