Hi, Im living in the newbridge area for quite some time and have being finding it hard to meet new people outside of the pub club scene for social activities, Just wondered if there were other people in the same boat that fancied doing something for example Dining out, cinema, theatre, walking etc

Because of work in the past I found myself moving from one country town to another quite a lot over the years and had the same issue. Not been one to walk into a pub on my own an introducing myself, and Basketball being my sport which does not have a club in every town, I eventually stumbled upon the tidy towns commitee as being a great way to met people.

I'm living in Sallins. Usually go out in Naas on a Sat night. Not around this weekend but next weekend will be out in Naas and you'd be welcome to come out. You'd meet loads as there's usually a fairly big group of us out. Send me a PM if your interested and I'll let you know my real name and facebook page etc...

I know how you feel Sillymoo, I'm living in Kildare and have not made many friends in the area. There are people who I am friendly with, but not much socialising outside of the context I met them, if you know what I mean.

I'm not very good at the all night drinking benders and I think meeting up in a club to have to shout at each other over bad music is a waste of time. I'd much prefer a bite to eat and a bottle of wine. Old before my time I guess. :o

Anyway, just wanted to let you know that you're not alone and there are others out there who feel the same! Why not go to TLL, there is a meet up section of the forum there.
