I recently moved into a house which has a red brick on the outside. White patches have appeared on the red brick and it has been suggested that this is called efflorescence. Does anybody have suggestions on the best product/method to remove this? Thanks in advance.

Yes there is a special cleaner for removing the residue. It's called brick acid and any builders supply will have it. Make sure you wear good pvc gloves and wash it away with plenty of water. Be quick because it stains foothpaths too:)

yeah its elforesence but dont use water on it because it is water reacting with the salts in the brick, mortar. use a good stiff brush or even a wire brush and it should work
