I've got my initial bids in too, just in case I don't get a chance to log on Sunday, but I'm sure I've many changes to make.

I really want to discuss all the different potential tactics for bidding, but also don't want to give anything away. :cool:

Should be a good laugh when the first round results come in. I bet it'll end terribly for most. Hehe.

due to tactical bidding and some lucky person will get them on the cheap.

wish it was just one big league then the transfers would be really interesting.

There are probably 2 ways most people will go:

1. Gamble big money on a few big players. Invest everything in 5 or 6 players from Germany, Spain, Holland, etc, then throw 0.5 at some average players nobody else is likely to have.
   
2. Spread your money across the board on "2nd tier" players. Kuyt instead of Sneijder. Albiol instead of Pique. Etc. That way you'll have a much better chance of getting your first choice at a decent price, instead of having your choices outbid by someone throwing stupid money at them (nobody is going to drop 12m on Kuyt), which should ultimately leave you in a better position for later bidding rounds, although meaning the likes of Ronaldo and Xavi will end up elsewhere.

Genuinely can't wait to see how it turns out.

I'm gonna be upfront about this. I've bid 14m on two players. 12.5m on two players. 10.5m on one player. 8m on one. 7.5m on one. 7m on one. 4m on one. 3.5m on one. 2m on two. 1.5m on one. And 0.5m on two

ive played this on how i rate the players......i may have to reevaluate that idea! otherwise i'll end up with 0 players after round 1 and left with muck to pick from. my highest bid is 10

That can work 2 ways. If your highest bid is 10, then you must have a decent amount of money spent elsewhere. Could turn out you end up with a very consistent team full of solid players, while someone else ends up with Ronaldo, Huntelaar, and Xavi for 14m a piece, then a team of crap.

Or... you'll end up with 0 players and muck to pick from.

That's definitely the most exciting part. I'm waiting to see some bugger get RVP for free because everyone else expected to be outbid and avoided him.

Bid, Bid and Bid Again
If necessary. Rounds continue until everyone has a complete squad, when an email is automatically dispatched telling managers of their completed squads. The Bid For Players page is updated to show those players already won shaded (in yellow) who are then not available for selection. The right hand side shows players already won and confirmed in the squad in a bright green box. Only the remaining player slots can be filled according to the updated remaining budget. Managers who have no money can continue to bid nothing for players, but when all spaces are filled, a manager takes no further part in the Auction.

Think I figured it out, I only had 3 defenders.

It looks like you can go with any formation in your squad as long as you have at least 4 defenders, 3 midfielders and 2 strikers. The problem with going with a 1-4-6-4 is that if your keeper doesnt play you have no sub keeper to come in and you have to have one of the formations in the rules, think its a 4-4-2, 5-3-2 or a 4-3-3
