You are being rude, no need for the sarky rolleyes.

We like to keep a certain friendly atmosphere around here, thanks very much.

Would it cost you anything to say thanks to someone for taking the time out to respond to your queery?

Whether you knew the answer, (when you could be arsed to check it yourself), or not already is irrelevant.

Try being a little grateful to others sometime, it will get you a lot further going through life than acting like a spoilt prick.

Lapin there is no need to be abusive, have you read the forum rules, calling people names is not allowed and I will be reporting you

As I said I wasnt being rude trying to be sarcastic but obviously it didnt come off that way and for that I apologise.

However when you log into a thread you see the first and second post and as I had answered my question in the second post I presumed whoever logged in would see that and wouldnt reply, obviously not

I didn't call you any names.

But carry on with the reporting anyway, I could care less.

    Every one calm down, thanks.

It's like a creche at times.

er spoilt prick I think that is name calling

anyway enough I answered my question in the second post there was no need for any other posts

Des if you could just close this thread off please, thank you.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,741 ✭✭✭Piliger

It's being hyped all over the place as an F1 event ..... but from the actual information available I wonder how much of it will be F1 ? it looks to me like a token F1 presence.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,183 ✭✭✭UnknownSpecies

Pointless thread is pointless. Would like to get up to the city for the racing though. Even if it's not proper F1 I'd say there'll be some serious cars about!

I never called you a spoilt prick.

I said you were acting like one.

Anyway, pleading to Des by asking him to close the thread simply because you don't like what you read in it would probably justify your being called a lot worse than a spoilt prick.

But I wouldn't stoop that low.

was planning on taking a trip into this myself, then I realized you have to buy tickets for it :O not cheap either...
    what a load of bull...

I work in the custom house area so think I'll just sit in my building looking out the window hoping to get a glimpse :P

You only need tickets for certain parts of the race course, the rest is free.

Edit: This map shows the three places you can/must buy tickets for.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,787 ✭✭✭edellc

Just to clarify I asked for the thread to be closed as I had answered my opening question in the second post so therefore there was no need for the thread to be open....I didnt open the thread for a discussion if a certain someone can not understand that well that is their issue and they clearly have anger problems.....but being aggressive and name calling is not part of what boards is about so maybe you should go read the charter again as clearly you dont seem to get it for some reason :p

mods please feel free to close this thread as stated question has been answered and it wasnt meant as a discussion thread or name calling thread nor for posters to be aggressive towards others

The thread will not be closed, this event is taking place in this city this weekend, and people may wish to discuss it, and this thread seems to be a perfect place for that.

Everyone take a breath before posting please.

Any more personal posts will be infracted/banned

i want to head myself but i am not paying that price for tickets. i have been to real F1 races and havent paid that much for tickets!

I am wondering if it is worth it ? it will probably be mobbed and we wont get to see anything.

am going to wait and see what the weather is like and how hungover Mr. Irishbird is

Just checked those prices  and to hell with that!.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,591 ✭✭✭RATM

Prices are insane for the paddocks and stand alright, some tickets seem to be €250+, don't they know there is a recession on and that some of the biggest bands coming here this summer are already failing to sell out gigs?

Anyway no doubt those with seats will be either hardcore FI heads or the Dublin glitterati or whatever they like to call themselves.
Climbing a lamp post might just get you an even better view :D

AND .... you can't bring your own food !

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,556 ✭✭✭Slunk

If the weather is nice I think ill go into one of the free viewing areas early enough and see can I get a good spot. On from 12-5 so even if I see and hour or two I'd be happy.
People always complain there's nothing to do etc. Posting threads looking for where to go,what to do well here's something that's free and will be fun for all the family. I'd love to see more stuff like this come to Dublin.

From looking at the route map, is there a lap that is being done more than once, or will the cars just go once round the 'lap'?

Forecast isn't great. Giving rain until late afternoon with cold easterly winds.

  • Registered Users Posts: 23,246 ✭✭✭✭Dyr

I hope it lashes down from the heavens on a biblical scale on them. They closed off O'Connell bridge tonight for this fiasco, left tons of people standing in the lashing rain for buses. Undoubtedly pedestrian access across the city centre will be borked tomorrow so these poxbottles can rake in the readies at the taxpayers expense.

I have. A Pain. In me hole. With this city.

A bit more cop on would have been to forget the whole stupid idea. Rich dickheads driving around in cars causing massive disruption for weeks while erecting stands to cater for other rich dickheads benefits nobody. Have it along a motorway in Laois or somewhere where they won't cause absolute mayhem.
