Folk outfit Bon Iver have announced two November UK live dates as part of a new European tour. Tickets for Bon Iver are onsale this Friday at 9am.

Following the release of last summer’s eponymous second album. Bon Iver have revealed that they may not release another record for a few years.

Frontman Justin Vernon revealed earlier this year that work on a follow-up had not yet begun and it could take quite a while before they head back into a studio. Vernon explained that he would ‘wait’ for songs to ‘reveal themselves’ instead of rushing and forcing his song-writing.

“I don't have any songs written yet,” he said in an interview with USA Today. “I'm guessing three years. But it could be five. It could be only one more. It just depends when the songs come about. I sort of have to wait till they reveal themselves.”

One reason behind the decision could be the fact that Vernon is working on some other projects, including some of his other musical groups such as Volcano Choir, and his on-going collaboration with Alicia Keys. “I have a big idea to do an American songbook of the greatest women singers,” he told the paper. “There are so many: Casey (Dienel) from White Hinterland, Bonnie Raitt, Alicia.”

Bon Iver will perform in the UK this November having confirmed shows in Glasgow and Belfast.

Bon Iver November 2012 UK Live Dates are as follows:

    Nov 10th - Glasgow SECC
Nov 11th - Belfast Waterfront Hall Auditorium

For a while last night it looked as though Bon Iver was due to pay a visit to Belfast later in the year, with BBC’s Across The Line announcing details of a live show for the city. It didn’t last long, however, with the following statement appearing soon after:

Guys, bad news. The gig we just announced, Bon Iver at The Waterfront Hall, is now not happening. Very unfortunate, especially as ticket information was online and everything seemed ready to go. But we’ve now been informed the gig is not going ahead. Here’s hoping Bon Iver makes it to Belfast another time and soon! Apologies to have got your hopes up.

Quite what happened is unclear, but it seems as though everything was in place for the show to go onsale this Friday but was pulled minutes after the first announcement was made.
