Just had my first really rainy night, It really is very well done. It better driving too, as you get the great ambient sound they have in this as well.

Rain batters the FPS for me but yea, definitely very Bladerunner

I'm not even trying to maintain 60fps on this cause it looks so good (rtx 3070)

Is it just me or does the game get progressively worse looking the further from the city centre you go? I've noticed lots of pop in and texture loading on small objects out in the desert but even the last gen version running on a Series X looks nice enough in the city centre to me. Noticed some texture load in on the roads on the outskirts of the city but no such problems loading in the city centre.

Actually scratch that, noticed some textures loading in the city centre now. It's just less obvious as it's the last bit of detail of already rendered items appearing as opposed to a small shrub appearing in front of you out of nowhere when you get close enough.

Act 2 question (for anybody actually playing the game :D)
So Delamain just wrote my car off in the parking lot and all of my objectives now are KM away. I can’t afford the car the fixer told me about yet so where the hell am I supposed to get some wheels for now? I need to go Delamain HQ but it’s nearly 2km away from me?

You have to wait for your own car to be fixed (there's a mission in the journal about it and just says wait) but you do get another free option at that same time. You get a free motorcycle at the same time as that happens, and you also start getting offers to buy new cars. Only problem is that some missions require you to take a passenger but for those you can just steal a car.

    Act 1 spoiler
After Jackie dies you call and check in with his mother and she says she left something for you at you apartment door, it's the keys to Jackies Arch motorcycle

How are people on high spec PC finding it anyway, I feel like the game is carried by its visuals somewhat. Constantly taking screenshots

I was watching my son play it on his high spec rig (roughly Xbox series X equiv.), with his new 55" OLED monitor last night, and it looked good at 1440p at around 40 FPS. 4K would need some further optimization via future updates, I would think.

Or maybe just don't buy a game until it's been released and reviewed by whatever sources you trust. Would be nice if some of those 8 million folks who pre-ordered have learned their lesson and stop doing it - let devs know their game won't be bought unless it's actually worth it. :)

Won't happen. Going on these threads a significant part to the experience for many people is watching the tracking notifications change on their pre order delivery and talking about how excited they are about it.

I rang her but she just invited me to the Coyote party to mourn him, didn’t even mention a bike?

Did a lot of the side quests to get enough money to buy a new os chip and some other cyber gear.

I tried the legs that let you charge a jump but found the double jump legs better since they let you avoid all fall damage by activating the second jump just before you hit the ground.

Ended up going with the gorilla arms instead of the mantis blades so I can make the boxing quest easier.

I watched a video YouTube, maybe from ESO, that shows you where you get free Mantis Arms if want them too.

    End of Act 1 spoiler.
Finish that quest. You get the motorbike during or after it

What are the mods you are crafting and how did you get the blueprints for them? I haven't gotten any mod blueprints. Can't even see them in the stores to purchase.

So, started looking at crafting a bit since this. If you buy the $10 cans from stores and vending machines, they disassemble into common and uncommon crafting items. You can then either sell these for more money than you paid for the can or craft a high value weapon to sell on. This lets you essentially build up infinite money and common and uncommon crafting equipment.

You can also buy the MaxDoc Mk2 crafting spec. This can be crafted using common and uncommon crafting items. It then disassembles into rare crafting and upgrade items. So, you can use this to get an infinite supply of them as well.

You only need the 'True Craftsman' perk to craft the MaxDoc Mk2 as it is rare. But you can then use this to start crafting rare weapons and clothing. I find this is the only way to make crafting viable. I am level 14 and up until I did this I had only a handful of rare item crafting components so I couldn't craft anything rare.

So this game is awful? Thats what im getting from this thread :(

i woudn't say awful. it's a nice looking action game on rails, very shallow and superficial game world. nothing like what was promised and hinted at over the years.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,784 ✭✭✭froog

make sure you have the very latest "game ready" drivers from nvidia etc, makes a huge difference.

Played a bit more of it doing random bits and also doing part of the
dex quest getting the flathead robot we have seen from trailers

Its getting to be a bit more enjoyable but I agree with everyone here that the world itself seems a bit hollow, NPCs seems a bit lifeless with no personality.

Some of the sidequests aren't bad though
hot crotch man made me laugh :D

Picked it up on Stadia ( they have a promotion at the moment where you get a premier edition free with cyberpunk: Chromecast ultra and the controller) I had a tenner off too so it's only €49.99.

Even at the free level 1080p steam it looks amazing. Started as a nomad and just messed about in the desert for ten mins. So no real idea what it's like as a game.

If anyone wants to just give it and stadia a go.

So if you upgrade and take some perks you can get mods back after disassembling them otherwise you can't and if you add a new one it destroys the one is replaced, but for the cybermods at least if you have a ripperdoc swap them out for another one (ie keep a spare in inventory) then all the mods go back to inventory.

Crashes on PS5 are plenty. Guaranteed if you go to a new area for the first time it's gonna crash to the dashboard.

I hope the devs don't get death threats but sadly it's inevitable which sucks

I really hope they dont either. In fairness though pissed off people is to be expected, lots of people have been sold a broken game and not just something with a few bugs.

Is it safe to say here that I’m actually enjoying it? 9 hours in on PS4 and not one crash yet - I’ve seen the bugs everyone has like melted faces, t poses etc but they are momentary - underneath there’s actually a really cool story going on and it’s properly pulling me in now.

It seems like the cool thing to hate on this game at the moment and while I’m sure a lot of it is justified in some sense depending on platform etc I’m left scratching my head everytime I visit this thread or the Reddit sub forum for it. Just raging hate boners everywhere and people ****ting all over the game from every angle with seemingly nobody discussing the game & story itself. It’s bizzare.

I'll give it a year and buy the fixed GOTY (Ha) edition with all the DLC.

Glad it's not only me. I'm loving it. Are there faults yes but it's enjoyable.

Hard is certainly hard... way beyond most of these types of games.

I think I'll put it down to normal. I tried the first fist fight and another mission to do with some sort of casino machines and had my ass handed to me on both.
The main story wasn't an issue to that point but I think after my brief play today I'll need to drop it back down.

29 hours in and I've just realized that I could have hacked those doors that I wasn't strong enough to rip open with the quick hacks, and same for those tech doors.

yeah hard is pretty rough, i get oneshotted constantly even with plenty of health perks and decent armour for my level. enemies are pretty bullet spongey. spamming heal items constantly is not fun combat.

Came to say the same. I'm near 12 hours in (just finished Act 1) and no crashes yet. I've seen a few bugs alright but nothing huge. Running on an older PC (GTX 970 card) but it's playing fairly smoothly and looks quite nice in parts.

As to the game play - I'm enjoying the main missions, especially taking a more stealth-y approach. The world isn't as interactive as it should be (not being able to play any arcade machines bugs me!) and it's not the game I had hoped for, but it's still entertaining me.

That's my main gripe with the game so far, enemies soak up bullets.
