The fact that some are seemingly defending CDPRs behaviour and the sales they've enjoyed will only embolden the industry to continue to release broken games.

Expect more of these types of launches.

I've finished the game now, think I'm about 60 hours total and I've done almost everything as far as I can tell.

Haven't completed a couple of districts because of glitched missions (of course), but have done all the main side missions, seen the alternate endings etc. Wondering where the hell this talk of a 175hr game came from.

I was playing on the Series X so while there was plenty of silly bugs, I didn't really have the performance problems of the older consoles. The bugs were very distracting, and took a lot away from the experience. Nearly every big story moment was marred by some stupid shít going on - eg the very last, long cutscene of the game after the final mission was completely bugged, textures missing everywhere and assets popping in all over the place. Went on for about 6 minutes, just had to laugh.

What a shame, cuz there is a great game under all the mess.

I don't think he's asking you to be. There's a number of issues here some people will like the game more than others, all things being equal. The main issue for me is it should never have been released on last gen but more importantly, should never have been marketed as "plays suprisingly well on last gen"

I was enjoying it but was always getting tired of it after 40 minutes to an hour and questioning why I was playing it. Not sure if it's just not for me or the performance was an issue. I've looked for a refund but will probably pick it up on next gen at some point.

I lost the game, I think.

I finished it last night and
choose to go with corpo option
and feeling not right tbh. Need to play again and go with different options.

Not sure if that counts as glitches but sometimes during the fight I was unable to re-load weapon or use stims to up health. Game crashed whole 4 times on me on random points. And on a race
    the one with bartender Claire
i went of the track and got stuck on some barricade so I had to re-start from save.

Playing on Stadia and in my opinion looks and feels good.

So I have about 5 hours game-time since release, PS4 version. I've only experienced one complete crash-to-desktop, one mid-quest bug that needed a restart to checkpoint, and another issue with a certain quest breaking mid-mission.

I've enjoyed it so far, and consider myself patient. Since the most recent hotfix (Monday, I think 1.05) I cannot change settings in the main menu (Specifically, vibration & language)
Once I re-update my preferences, I get stuck in the options, unable to do literally anything. :pac:
Unfortunately, I feel like I've given the developers enough opportunity to iron this out, I don't mind bugs - but I literally can't play in my desired language. So I've requested my refund this morning. V. disappointed. I will likely pick up the next-gen version in 4-5 months. (When the bugs should well and truly be resolved I hope, same goes for ps5/xbox teething issues)

I haven't seen anyone defend CDPR here. You can say you really enjoyed the game while also finding CDPR and their behaviour distasteful.

Not explicitly, no. But some posts I've seen seem to imply that last generation console users should have known the game wouldn't work on their systems, and since the game runs well on their expensive PC then there's really no issue here.

I think this view is letting CDPR off the hook.

Two things that are bigger than the bugs themselves:
#1 - The utterly broken state of previous gen console releases. Bad in itself but they deliberately lied about it's state right up until release and very deliberately witheld review copies from reviewers with the absolute intent to keep customers that they knew would not buy it if forwarned. This is nigh on criminal imho, fully intentioned deception and borderline fraud.
#2 - The save game bug. Limited by design to a threshold below what would be reasonable in a single extended playthrough, without any alerting, mitigation or remediation steps taken pre-release and instead just leaving it to be a ticking time-bomb fk-you for anyone who played the game the way it was represented, as a long term RPG/Looter with extensive crafting. Tack on their response of they 'may' fix it and this is just an unbelievable cascade of technical to managerial ignorance.

For the record I had it on a current top of the line gaming PC, the least impacted by it's issues, my refund last night was not just about me. If this were a matter of individual bugs that they were resolving in good faith I wouldn't be here discussing it but the above represent at least 2 heinous absolutely anti-consumer issues that come from a toxic culture none of us would have believed CD Projekt Red capable of. This is not merely distasteful behaviour it is abhorrent and extremely anti-gamer, not just against specific segments based on platform or playstyle, and it needs to be stopped. If you do nothing because your individual experience was not as bad as some, or you don't have a platform that suffered from a deliberate attempt to hide sales effecting issues then never again complain about a bad release, you've voted with your wallet that the above is ok.

What is the save game bug? I'm on pc and hadn't been aware of one.

I'm still really enjoying it on pc and have found myself logging on for hours and not touching a main mission, plus only 1 or 2 side missions which is reminding me of my BOTW and TW3 playthroughs. Not that this is close to those, but I just love the world and some of the alternative methods to shooting (as much as the guns sound/feel great, and I either got better at aiming or they patched something from launch).

The old gem issue is utterly inexcusable though. Some other issues like AI and driving controls also are to an extent, but I would be absolutely fuming if I had a PS4 and had been sold so hard on this for so long by a company that clearly would have known how broken it is from an hour or two testing on those platforms.

Edit - oh ffs is this it? It would definitely be ironic given that I literally just said how much I am enjoying playing the game 'wide' rather than just bee lining the main story. https://www.theverge.com/2020/12/20/22192375/cyberpunk-2077-save-file-corrupted-8-mb

I will happily defend CDPR. I am really enjoying the game and it runs quite well on my xBox One X. I have recently also been playing Watchdogs Legion, and that is as buggy and in need of some updates as Cyberpunk with noticicable graphics issues, but there's hardly a peep about it. Both games have crashed a couple of times.

Then you deserve every broken game you buy. Don't worry, plenty more to come. So long as companies rake in the cash for unfinished games, they'll keep duping the consumer into buying them.

    Quests

Dum Dum will no longer go missing from Totentanz entrance during Second Conflict.

    Console-specific

Improved memory management and stability, resulting in fewer crashes.

    PC-specific

Removed the 8 MB save file size limit. Note: this won’t fix save files corrupted before the update.

It’s really puzzling seeing stuff like this attitude across the online discussions for the game - the guy just said he’s enjoying the game but you can’t just accept that, he’s the devil for even buying this game and how dare he say he’s enjoying it. It’s ****ing bizzare behaviour.

If you hate the game then don’t play it, if you don’t like CDPR then don’t play it, if you don’t like how they handled the launch then don’t play it - but don’t be so shocked that some people are actually enjoying it.

The guy said he’ll happily defend CDPR, I’m guessing that was probably more the issue than him enjoying the game. It’s great some folks can enjoy the game but how you can defend CDPR for the scummy things they’ve done I don’t understand.

58 Hours in and I am enjoying it but i cant get that 2020 unfinished vibe off it, like there is stuff missing (same as watchdogs legion but that was just boring).

Clearly they ran out of time and another few months would have completed the in game systems that are not there. It is a very good game but it needs more time to flesh out the systems from damage to quickhacks to even picking the car you want to summon. As an RPG you can play it however you want but some of the important netrunning skills and perks are walled off early. it is entirely plausible to create a character that doesnt kill a single person* and doesnt get spotted in almost all missions. You can Commando all missions.

    High end PC player.

    * I think there may be one or 2 missions where you have to kill but they in the main missions.

There was one mission where you were sent to kill someone but instead I've talked myself into apartment and then talk with "target" and kinda forced him to leave the city.

Don't remember name of the side-quest thought.

This is the wrong take. Why should gamers who are not experiencing any/many issues and are enjoying the game refund it? Those who are seeking refunds have already sent the message loud and clear to CDPR that their conduct was not acceptable but just because some aren't willing to do that, just because we're actually enjoying the game despite the way it was marketed and delivered does not negate that.

We're a community, or supposed to be. I've been a gamer since we loaded them on tapes, I've watched it grow from a super niche to mainstream and the only real disasspointment I have had is in how useless the gaming community is as a whole in coming together to effect change. You literally are making the argument against the famous quote from Martin Niemoller, or basically 'I'm okay so fk everyone else' until it impacts you.
I was nowhere near as impacted as many, I refunded a game I really want to play and most likely could with relatively little impact because of what they have deliberately done to the global gaming community I am a part of, regardless of platform.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is broken, more so than Cyberpunk 2077. I've had to replay HOURS to complete that game due to bugs. You don't see me going around telling everyone to stop having fun and refund the game.

There are a thousand things in this industry that you could complain about and not just in terms of anti consumer practices but in terms of content (the racist piece of crap known as Bioshock Infinite springs to mind )

And why stop with Cybeprunk or BI? Hell, let's call for games that have microtransactions and loot boxes to be refunded because the latter is blatantly gambling. People play Fifa and COD every year and are enjoying a literal casino in GTA online and NOW we're gonna go on a righteous crusade?

Ubi did not write the hiding of platform specific breakage into their legal contracts with reviewers. The bugs we see (and I have AC:V and am holding off on playing for a few more patches because of them) are not being hidden by Ubi, or downplayed as 'maybe' fixes.

Give me a break. Gamers are picky and choosy about what they stand up against and have laughably short memories.

Agreed. But you seem to post this in agreement with them, as if it's right but then also deriding with 'laughably'. You think the community sucks at this so you endorse sucking...that's healthy.

The ex-CDPR fanboys have jumped on the hate bandgwagon but let me remind you these same people were harassing Kallie Plagge for giving the game a 7/10. Maybe the real issue gamers have is being too reactionary. First they were swept in the hype, now they're swept up in the hate and they're blaming CDPR - who are at fault - but I think some self reflection is also in order.

Ah, here we go. If someone presents a different viewpoint they are a fan-boy or ex or whatever. So you don't have to actually have a logical response or consider their PoV, without knowing anything about that person or taking their existing other posts into acount you just have a fantasy that they are am extremist and can be written off. Of all the points you have made so far this is just intellectually weak, let alone utterly factually incorrect. But please, try again in response.
You say it's not just for you but it's totally for you. The (former) save game bug had you spooked and understandably so but I will not refund a game I'm having a good time with, otherwise I'm gonna go through my entire backlog looking for games with scummy business practices and calling for refunds there too.

CDPR has heard you. They know that it's not ok. The fact that it's been pulled from the playstation store shows that it's not ok. They get it. We get it. The horse is dead.

So to round up. Again with zero knowledge beyond the posts I have so far in this thread, where I clearly point out that having the luck and luxury to play this on it's ideal platform where I have had much less negative impact than many others in the community I have refunded for their practices you have again argued against some fantasy version in your own mind. If you had actually done some research on my previous posts on similar you would have seen I have taken action against other publishers for what I have seen as extreme anti-consumer activity. The most recent probably being that I no longer have a Blizzard account because of the blitz-chung saga (and I did not easily write off that library or franchises I loved). I do not preach repeatedly on this, I action and mention/ask for support of anyone else that wants to do the same, had you not made this post I wouldn't have been back to this topic most likely.
Your final line there, that CDPR has heard everyone? You justify my (and others point), only financial impact made them sit up and take action.

What I take from your post is simply - It doesn't affect me, I don't care, the gaming community is useless, I will tar everyone who disagress with this with an extremist/fanboy/ex-fanboy brush to ensure I don't have to actually consider where they are coming from.
    Convenient.

It's tricky, I know. Let me break it down for you. What bothers me is people who defend the behaviour of CDPR, not people enjoying the game.

I hope that detangled the intricate web that was my point.

Was doing a side mission last night and said I'd hacky-stealth as much as possible. It occurred to me that in it's current state CP is what Ubisoft hoped Watch Dogs could be.

I'm on the fence about if I should continue playing this game. Performance wise its running fine for me. Playing on Stadia. But the glitches. I've got past the title screen but the amount of hours I've wasted trying to find things that I missed that turned out to be bugs and glitches is frustrating.

Yes, they will no doubt focus on fixing the game which is push back the next gen versions back a good while. I'd say November 2021 so they can push for more sales.

    Finished it there.
I left the city with Panama, Judy(GF) and Mitch

Altho Mitch called during the credits to wish me luck even tho he went with us.

Good game, enjoyed the gigs and side missions more than the main story.
