OL Maths - P.2 - Q.5

Hi All, I was listening to Countdown to 606 on RTE 2XM. There was a maths man in it. He said that if you can do JC OL Geometry, especially the C parts, then you are better doing the Part B of Q.5 in the OL LC P.2 Q.5 Anybody think this is true?
