No its not too late. You could still plant loads of veg. Lettuce, onions , early carrots (take a shorter time to grow) spinach.. the list goes on. There was very little growth in April and early May so you haven't missed much:D

Still time but be quick. Early varieties could be good as they will bulk up quicker?

Nope I dont think it'd be too late at all, most of my veg are just starting to come along, you should be fine.
