I suspect After Hours requires more attention, modding and fecking
about with tossers than anywhere else on Boards.
(Apart from the Radio Forum when Joe Duffy is on).

They're just normal users pretty much except when they see something amiss or a post breaking the rules they do something about it. Its not like they're high and mightly emporers or anything. People get too obsessed with mods tbh.

I'll hazard a guess here and say for most mods its a mixture of having way too much free time on their hands and some childish dream of being an internet cop. Probably from their days of running their own popular IRC chat rooms. They have tasted power and it was oh so sweet.

Then again some of them seem like odd robotic fcukers who have a penchant for civility and reasonable discourse. We all know those are the ones who let rip in private and do all sorts of weird and psychotic shít.

AH's mods are just the delegated drivers charged with keeping their drunken gang from wreckin the place. They act like they dont want to do it and would rather be drunk and causing mischeif like the rest but secretly they love feeling like an alpha male for the evening because lets face it in every day life your a bit of a joke.

Thanks a bunch for that. We've been getting away with giving them a tenth of the coke and hookers that the other mods get because we keep telling them AH is all a bit of a lark and it's not really work. Not like the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy forum, for instance, where the stress of not knowing if there'll be a post this month is causing me sleepless nights and an increasing alcohol dependency. They're now going to cop on that we've been taking advantage of their simple and pleasant natures and have actually been working them to the bone. They'll probably demand a huge increase now, and most likely back-pay too, and quite frankly we just don't have it. Gordon "appropriated" the spare coke and hookers for some scheme he said would make all the admins rich (still waiting on that one, I suspect he may not have been entirely honest with us).

Anyway, we may as well just close AH now because I doubt they'll stand for these working conditions for much longer. I hope you're happy that you've just ruined things for everyone, but I'm sure in time they'll forgive you.
