    Just saw that 3DS (Solidworks) have released a free 2d cad program (for individuals) and they have a deb and rpm install packages. (And it's also available for mac and windows)

    haven't tried it out yet, but that's another reason for me to keep windows gone!

    Had a play with this - this is way beyond even what AutoCAD LT was at a few years ago. Basically a total copy of AutoCAD 2009-ish (pre-ribbon) right down to commands and layout. Useful tool to have in the back pocket for those not lucky enough to have access to full free AutoCAD as students.
