Yes 38 mill is way over the top and IMO very few players are worth that but chelsea clearly want him.

Man Utd wouldn't pay more than 130k a week, and wouldn't pay the 6 million pound agent fee, so yeah. It would have been a lot less.

Also Rooney was proven as one of the worlds top players.

They've bought players yes, with money they've won and through their fan base.
