Being a very early riser and as we have heavy clay soil here and all was so dry, I decided around 5 am to give the garden a really good soaking..

Yep... the driveway here is under water and I dare not look at the garden.. maybe we should start changing to growing rice... the paddy fields of West Cork..

Still I got a lot of baking done as I cannot work in the garden...

Even with my rain gauge only reporting in intermittently 29.2mm so far and still coming, wind 22.7km/h gusting to 39km/h, pressure 996.2hPa steady, humidity 98%

Wind has dropped and the rain while still hard, is at least vertical now. Outdoor market today and our wee gazebo is dead. flipped in wind and broke a leg so we had to put it down... so no shelter as cannot afford to replace it. Please God a dry day!

Absolutely beautiful day here in Dromahair! Spent about 6 hours working in the garden, temps were around 20c ... no two bits of me looking the same direction now, but garden looking good and if i had a wood burner outside it would have been a nice enough evening to sit out... just getting a bit chilly now 11c.
