Can anyone suggest where I would get rid of my old sitting-room carpet?
I have it cut up into 1m sq pieces.

Mungret recycling centre doesn't accept carpets far as I know.

    Any advice appreciated.

    John.

Mungret have started taking matresses and furniture siutes , but there is an additional charge , I am nearly certain the same applies to carpets.

Failing that there is the tip in Shannagolden @ 11 euro per 100 kg , I believe there is another commercial place on the dock road that takes stuff like carpet , but I hav'nt used it yet.

Failing all that and seeing as you have already cut it up, do what i used to do and stick it in your wheelie bin

Great! Looks like I'll be headed out to Mungret on Tuesday morning.
Even with an extra charge for carpet, it's great value at €5.00 for a car-full of junk.

1 cm² pieces would have been about 100 times easier to get rid of...... You'll know next time though.......

    - Seriously though, their dead sound in Mungret recycling centre, and its a joy to finally get rid of crap you'd have lying around for ages too.

The next time my living room carpet falls due for replacement, I'l be so old and decrepid I won't have the strength to shave myself, never mind cut up the carpet into 1cmw2 pieces :(

By the way, I like your small "2" font.(cm²) How do you do that?

15 Euros today to get rid of a van full of heavy stuff, including 2 Beds and a sofa got to say the place is a bargain! so two thumbs up for the guys in Mungret from me! thought we would get charged for each of the Beds on top of the charge for the van but nope! 15 covered everything which was great.

Yeah, the Mungret recycling depot is one of the best-value services anywhere in the region.

In the midst of high charges everywhere for all sorts of things, it's nice to have such a vital service provided for such a small cost and the place is very well organised and supervised too.
