Use of 'clips' to tie off ovarian / fallopian cysts?

    Hi all,
not looking for medical advice here but would be interested in peoples experience.

Following a routine pelvic ultrasound examination recently, it was noted that I have "fallopian clips in lower right quadrant". I have never undergone surgery for this procedure!

The only incident it may pertain to is 11 years ago (aged 22) I had emergency surgery for removal of my appendix, following which I was told that I had cysts on my right ovary and to monitor them.

I am being referred to a Gynocologist for further exploration and to try and clarify this matter. My own GP mentioned that possibly the clips may have been used in such a way as to 'tie off' the cyst(s) but that this would be somewhat unusual. Until I have my gyny examination, we dont know what these clips are attached to or why..

Has anyone had experience of a surgeon using fallopian clips to tie off cysts?
    Feedback appreciated - many thanks..

Very strange, out of interest have you been trying to get pregnant or have you any children. Would these clips affect this?

Don't have children but we are looking to start our family in next year or so (hence the GP, general checkup and review of my last pelvic ultrasound). It was reading of the report from a year / half ago that the matter of these 'fallopian clips' showed up.

It doesnt state what they are clipped to or why (my appendix was removed in a hsoiptal in different county). I've been referred to a Gynecologist for further tests to try and clarify what exactly has gone on and why.

All bizzarre to be honest - waiting for my referral, hoping it wont be too long so we can figure it all out...

Hi Plek, why don't you contact the hospital that performed your appendix operation and ask them to forward your patient chart?

Hi Splendour - my new Gyne will be requesting my permission to access these files and have them sent directly to her to compare with her own examination, so I'd rather not 'double up' on file requests in case I complicate matters!

Hoping my referral will come through this week - sooner I get moving on this the better! Anyone ever heard of the use of clips in treating cysts?...
