I am looking to move into my own place, im looking for a nice 2 bedroom apartment in the city . My budget is about 500 to 600 euro a month, so far theres one in maritana gate and another in mount suir on the carrickpheris road that I like the look of. What are these 2 areas/apartments like, im weary about travellers in mount suir though, would appreciate some recomendations

maritana gate = way too small. Bloody tiny actually. steer well clear.

Canada Square is where people will suggest id say.

That's a bad ass view from the bedroom in all fairness.

Yeah, looks a nice apartment tbf. Not really a problem with travellers in Mount Suir but the interior of the apartments there doesn't look as nice as Maritana Gate.

Maybe it's just me, but I always prefer a house to an apartment. Some of those apartments are pretty nice places alright, but I always find noise a problem. I reckon at €600 or €650 you would find yourself a nice house with lots more space.

    View is lovely but

    - the bedroom is tiny, shimmying around that bed to get to the window and some of the storage would drive me mad
    - don't like integrated appliances like the washing machine, they generally take smaller loads and going on the last house I lived in (everything was integrated) when the washing machine broke down it was a nightmare having to pull out all the cupboard bits and bobs and because the washing machine had leaked, the kick board for the bottom of the washing machine swelled and wouldn't fit back in and it took the landlord ages to sort that out (in fairness not all landlords would be like that)
    - the two couches in the sitting room realistically don't fit, one of them is blocking the dining area (maybe it's just their positioning) so I think the person trying to let the apartment is trying to deceive you into believing the living area is bigger than it is.

To be honest though after nearly 6 years of renting you really don't know what you're getting unless you view a place. Photos can be so deceptive and can make you write off a place without viewing it and it could actually be lovely (happened me once when my friend moved into a place that I had viewed online only).

I'd view it just for the "view" and see what it's like in person. Don't know anything about the area.

HA I was at a session years ago in that exact flat by Ozier. They are grand, sitting room is big and bright. Didn't see the bedrooms or anything mind.
