Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sad there hasn't been any interest in my idea at all. I didn't really expect it to become a reality, but was expecting at least a few people to have been interested in the idea by now. Would be great if a workable way of doing it could be found.

    Don't feel bad

Just you're expecting people over the internet to trust each other

Sorry but it's just never going to work

If i won, I would tell my girlfriend.
i get up in the morning go to work and take a long lunch, go to collect my winnings.
go back to work and not tell any else.
I get Married and them I wait untill i saw a nice farm and i go buy it. buy myself a 100 Cows and two good dogs, Then quit my job, Quit the City. and go live in the county.
I still have a reason to get up in the morning and i get to work outside in the open air.
It wouldn't be perfect it would be hard work and i miss some parts of city life.
Money dosen't make you happy. but a good reason to get up in morning, something to do to fill you day and a good girl to work/live with is a good start.

Also i give offaly gaa around 5 million. Well worth it for the Entertainment and Friends it given me over the last 33 Years.

Ireland is a small place, the rags will get your name

The girl in the bank, the lad in the accountants, the local shopkeeper who sold the ticket and fetched your CCTV image, someone will sell your name to the Sun or the Star or whoever

Best to just come forward, do it on your own terms and get it over with :)

Organise a party in a small, purpose-made club, with a made-up stooge as the proprietor, for all those people, to "celebrate" your win with them.
Pay a scobe to firebomb the club.
    What? No fire exits?
    Lousy. What a shame.

A bit of advice for people who do the lotto or do the odd bit of gambling go to an anonymous joint( NOT THE LOCAL!! ) dont dress in your usual gear, and they wont know you then,as long as you dont go to your local there is always the grenade like local gossipers around when your there,i mean what can you expect?

btw,i did mine (euromillions just recenty)..fingers crossed, and i didnt go to my local either, that would be a big mistake..

I'd hire an elite team of kidnappers to kidnap everyone I don't like (well not everyone, but loads of them), and force them into the sex-slave trade, with a strong emphasis on elephant-bukkake.

    Quit ruining the illusion.

The odds are lower because your sums assume order is required. the actual odds are 1 in 117 million approx.

After looking after family and friends I wouldn't bother doing selfless nonsense. I'd have a whole lot of fun. The tropics, Asia, pissing about posh spots around mainland Europe and London.
I'd love a little island getaway with a converted castle or the like.
Vegas for the thrill but I wouldn't go mad.
A vintage Aston Martin, a few properties.
A (hot) personal trainer to get me in the best possible shape.
I could actually take time and have the money to see some decent theater around the world and go to some amazing events.
I want to see the Arctic and some other out of the way places.
I could go on but that's the brunt of my attack on a vast fortune.

That's logically incorrect. There is just more chance of a winner the more tickets are sold. The only way a winner is guaranteed is if every single possible combination of numbers is bought which is, for all intents and purposes, impossible.

Yeah but it has to be won at some stage so everyone in it for that draw will have the same odds per line.

So :p to you and your logic.

Carl Nordmann, 50, has played the same three lines on EuroMillions for two years.

But after a cutback in his shifts at IBM he could only afford to play two £2 lines — and his usual third line won.

The dad of three did not discover his numbers would have won £109,315,762 on Tuesday until he checked his tickets on Friday.

Carl, of Greenock, Renfrewshire, said: “I just could not believe my eyes when I saw those numbers on screen. My wife and I cried.”

This is why you should only play QuickPick.

yeah i heard a couple of years ago a guy in the UK killed himself due to having his numbers come up but missed out that week,or it got lost, heard it on the bbc a few years back..tragic if it happens..personally i dont think i would kill myself over it,unless i had cancer or something then it would be different..
Btw,i always do quick pick i always had better luck on them..

let the computer pick your numbers in that way you wont beat yourself up I used to pick my own numbers I'd be drepressed thinking why did'nt I pick 6 instead of 7 it wrecks your head

He didn't miss out on £109 million, two people matched the numbers so he would have got a third of £109 million as the three tickets would have matched it.

    100 x250 million

    [EDIT]

Not sure if someone else did the calculation, but its not anything like as bad as 27 billion. It would never be won.

    Its 50 x 49 x 48 x 47 x 46 = 254,251,200
But as each number comes out, there is 1 number less to choose from, so the above has to be devided by 5 then 4 then 3 then 2, which means dividing it by 120.

254,251,200/120 = 2,118,760 which is the odds of getting the 5 main balls.

The lucky stars are 1 to 11. So its 11 x 10 and as above, divide by 2 = 55

    So the overall odds are 2,118,760 x 55 = 116,531,800

So the odds are almost 117 million to 1

A it wont be so bad on him so, its only 36.3 million.
