Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Stretching suede shoes?

I bought a pair of shoes yesterday that fit me yesterday evening but I'd kind of like them to fit all the time (as opposed to just in the evenings, don't know why but my feet seem to get smaller as the day wears on). A quick google tells me that freezing bags of water in the shoes works but does it actually work well? Also, are the shoes damaged by the freezing? Any other tips for stretching them?

This is what I did to stretch my suede shoes - I imagine this will not work if shoes are of a synthetic material.

I wet a pair of my sons sport socks in warm water, wrung them out, put them on with the shoes! Did this for a few hours in the evening while watching tv, in just a few days the shoes were stretched to fit.

This is how I stretch shoes - all types even synthetic and won't damage the shoes!

Wrap a hot potato in tinfoil and place inside a sports sock - yes you did read that right!!!!! Push this into the shoe and leave for a while so that the heat from the potato will go through into the shoe. When the shoe is warm to touch, take the potato out and put on a sports sock on your foot then put this socked foot into the shoe and wear for a while .... ta da!! Shoe should be stretched enough to make them comfortable!
The heat from the potato will soften the material of the shoe and when you put the socked shoe into the shoe it helps to stretch out the shoe but not too much!!
Try it cos it really does work - it was passed on to me from an elderly lady!
