Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Alien costume

    Hey lads,there is an event coming up in august so i have two months to come up with a costume, im thinking of going as alien from alien vs predator. im trying to figure out how to fashion the costume. this might be the wrong place to post but im hoping you lads can help, thanks

    Let me have a think about this however you might get a good response from the art and craft crowd. Art students with lots of imagination.Has that alien got tentrils coming out the back of his head?

    My ideas are usually ridiculous, but I might as well throw some stuff out there.
    For the head you could start off with a bike helmet, you know the ones that taper at the back. You could get some different types of tubing, as below, glue it to the helmet, cover the very top with black plastic from a bin bag and then wrap the whole thing in a tightly pulled single layer of cling film.

    For the body you could use a morph suit in black and stick the various components on. More tubing for the ribs, bits of back plastic-covered cardboard to shape solid parts like the knees. Black twine for the stringy sections on the arms and legs.

    If you want it to look good it'd be a huge job to get done though. Still can't think of how you could do the face. I suppose you could fashion a jaw from solid materials, that juts out from your actual jaw, and make teeth that then come up from that and down from the helmet to meet a few inches out from your face.
