So I'm about to purchase this PC i built on Dabs (Yes, I know OMG). Can you guys check it and see if there is anything you would change? Cheers


Case: Factual Design Define R3 Black Pearl Mid-Tower
PSU: OCZ ZS Series 750W ZS 80+ PSU
MoBo: Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H
CPU: Core i7 2700k
Graphics: Sapphire Technology Radeon 7850 OC Version
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB 1600MHz
CPU Cooler: Akasa Nero 3 Premier CPU Cooler
Case Fans: Arctic Cooling Arctic F12
HDD: Seagate 2TB Baracuda 6Gb/s
DVD: Sony 24x DVD SATA
OS: Win7 Home Premium
Monitor: ViewSonic VX2239WM 22"


I left out some minor components such as Wireless Card, Keyboard, Mouse etc. It costs roughly 1500 euro.

Please tell me if you think this build is good/bad/needs a tweak.

Is this for gaming? If so drop the i7 get an i5-2500K and get a better gfx card.

EDIT: Also invest in a good monitor - those things normally out last the PC so pays to get a decent one.

Are you thinking of crossfire with such a high watt PSU?

I'd also scale back the CPU in favour of a 2500K or 3570K, but I'd get an SSD in there instead. For a budget like that, it would be a shame not to fit that in.

Is that a green 2TB drive or a regular one?

Also, maybe you can save on windows if you're a student with software4students.ie

Then throw in your own KBM, this build would murder the one you posted due to it's graphics card, not to mention better monitor as well. All the components are in stock as well (had to make a few changes) so you could order this now. Don't get a keyboard from HWVS, but they have a good selection of mice.

Pretty much this, unless you want to crossfire 7850s (if you don't plan to upgrade the GPU in a few years). Also, you specced the silver U23 there, 20 quid dearer.

I've heard good stories about this monitor and was recommended by a friend.
Im planning to OC the i7 as I'll need it as I will be editing a lot of videos on it.

Yes, I will hopefully be purchasing another 7850 in a month along with SSD.
The HD is Regular and the i7 I need. Thanks for the web link, looks good. But I've got Win7 for €80 which I thought a bargain

Thanks for that build guys, I never thought to use that website. Yet I am still probably going to stick to Dabs, they've got a Summer Discount Codes on and can save 100 quid off my trolley! I will be planning on picking up another 7850 in a month with SSD.

SSD all the way and I'd suggest Corsair H2O CPU cooler, they are very good for over clocking and nice and quiet too. Go to bit-tech.co.uk and check out their latest buyers guides too.
