Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Keane
    Doyle

Where's the weakened team riddled by injuries?

Given, Dunne, O'Shea, and Keane have all been injured, missed training and lacked match practice coming into this match. They are probably our four best and most important players. That is bound to affect team performance, and performance has been disjointed.

we have done quite well with injuries and preparation this campaign, I think its a good manager we have, although we could play better but that's the players we have at the moment.

This Hungary team beat the Czechs away last week. And also have beaten Sweden in the past year.

They are a decent team so shut the hell up moaning!

    Should have scored.

    Better last 10 minutes.

Walters or Cox surely have to start ahead of Doyle?

Hunt has a brilliant final ball and can be an lethal from set pieces.

Aye he's useless. He's only Ireland's top scorer of all time.

    You're at it.
Still deserves a place in the squad, but Walters/Long are better options.

Darron Gibson definitely has the edge over Keith Andrews.
    Has he f*ck.

And why do people even bother arguing with muppets like Francie Barret.

Disappointing if Doyle keeps his starting place for the game vs Croatia, Cox and Walters look in good form

The result is irrelevant, it's the toxic football we are playing.

Call it what you want, I don't care. I like thousands more in Poland will be cheering for the men in green no matter what.

Ireland playing in a major tournament is a brilliant occasion and is the ONE THING that can sweep away the cloud of negativity permanently hanging over us for a few weeks at least. Not for everyone it would seem however.

Regardless of what you think of the football, both the teams and the fans are guaranteed to give a great account of themselves and the country!

Darron Gibson definitely has the edge over Keith Andrews.

Only because Andrews isn't encouraged to do the one thing he's good at, getting into the box to score goals a la Estonia and his time at Ipswich.

Fair play to Hunt for staying on the line.

Green is coming on. Mon Paul, show Xavi and Pirlo your moves.

Only because Andrews isn't encouraged to do the one thing he's good at, getting into the box to score goals a la Estonia and his time at Ipswich.

Which he was able to do in a much lower standard of league. I'm not overly bothered by his selection, but Gibson is a better player.

It's the inclusion of Ward over Wilson and Doyle continuing to start that bothers me.

In fairness , on that break Ireland got back in numbers amazingly well for the 89th minute. They should have no fitness problems at least.
