Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Been a while since a Dole thread was around...

    Have to be up early tomorrow :(

    Anyone able to save much dole? A freind of mine has €15K saved up from dole in his room!
    I have €3K saved up myself. Its not a bad life

    How long have you been on? And how do you save that much money on a per week basis? No rent, bills, et cetera?

    If you're friend is over 21 it took him 80 weeks just to amass €15,000. What did he live on while saving?

    If you're under 22 it would take 150 weeks.

    But really, this is a great country. I can see a trend where once on the dole you dont really want to get off as the rate of pay is to high in reality. Its almost like the goverment want people to become passive?

    No they had this crazy idea to create a welfare state whereby the poorest in society would get a generous job seekers payment untill they got back on their feet.
