I have just finished studying for the PDE and have been offered a teaching job in an international school far far away.

It is an IB school. I have taught Junior and Leaving Certificate english here in Ireland, but have not taught IB yet.

I have found information on the internet but have found it to be disjointed. Can anyone give a basic rundown of the system?

    Thanks

I taught in An International in Portugsl a few years back.

The IB is a bit like the Leaving Cert & A levels all rolled into one.

Year 12 & 13 (5th & 6th year equivalents) students take 6 subjects (3 at Higher Level, 3 at Ordinary Level) and they also get marks/grades towards their IB by doing community service & things like the Duke of Edinburgh awards.

I taught Higher Level IB Biology.
Was kind of in between LC & A levels.

    Hope this helps a bit
