Required level of Irish?

I want to go to college but Irish is a very weak subject for me, I may not pass ordinary. If I wanted to go to college, would I need to pass ordinary to get into NUI Galway or a college in Dublin or is foundation okay?

For DCU you only have to pass either english or irish. For Trinity College you can substitute a language like french, german, instead of a pass in irish
