Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

McDonalds buns

    so i was sitting there getting stuck into my big mac and it dawned on me that there must be a huge number of top buns left over...... for every big mac sold there is a top half left aside.... what do they do with them? i know the odd one or two are used as replacement tops if one falls but what do they do with the rest?

    I wouldn't say McDonald's are big enough to say to suppliers we want Y tops and X bottoms.

    Do you think that because a Big Mac has three slices of bread, they use two buns sliced in two and get rid of one slice?

    It doesn't work like that. The buns for the Big Mac come in with the center part and the top and bottom. Thats how they're made.

    there baked like a mini loaf n cut into three layers. Its not two buns hacked together if thats what u mean?

    The middle bun is diffrrent to the bottom bun and they order them seperately.

    Yes it is.

    No, the middle bit is sliced out of the whole thing so doesnt have a brown bottom like the bottom bit.

    OP some smaller chippers would use two "bottoms" to make a Double Decker. McDonalds buns for a big Mac are supplied cut into 3 pieces.

    The correct term is heel for the bottom and crown for the top. The middle bit is just called the middle.
