Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Today marks the 66th anniversary of the founding of the (North) Korean Children’s Union, which students join at age 7 until they graduate at age 13 to the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League.

South Korean media have called the festivities “a political show”. The criticism prompted the North Korean military to warn it would fire at South Korean media outlets if Seoul refused to apologize for orchestrating what North Korea called a “vicious smear campaign”.
    Source: http://www.thejournal.ie/kim-jong-un-addresses-mass-rally-of-under-13s-476479-Jun2012/

I think one Sourth Korean station refered to the rally as like a Hitler Youth event. :D

Heaven forbid RTE or any other station might criticise the North Korean nut-jobs and expose their lies.

Don't like a station? Aaa hell... Lets attack it!
Way to go Kim Jong Un and co! Ye are the exemplification of daftness dressed up with nowhere to go, in stupidity!

Poor buggers don't stand a chance!
North Korean children are taught from an early age to be loyal to the Kim family, with education about the childhoods and accomplishments of founder Kim Il Sung and late leader Kim Jong Il beginning in kindergarten.
The brainwashing begins at the earliest moment possible.

...As for "accomplishments" that the family is supposed to have done... Aye, hunger, famine, torture camps, re-educations camps, forced labour... etc...

    Great accomplishments!

What's the relevance to RTE? Have they criticised the gathering or something =/

They haven't actually attacked any stations have they? Just idle threats as usual. And why do SK always try to provoke a reaction from them anyway?

NK stated a few weeks ago that they were experiencing a new famine. Have the US or SK decided to lift the sanctions on supplying direct food aid to the people affected? Have they fook.. they'd rather see the people starve so they have a drum to beat on whenever NK appear on radar.

How do the USA or the South Koreans know this food will be dispersed to those in need and not just used to feed the loyal ranks of the party in Pyongyang, and then used by the north as another propaganda tool.

Oh look what the leader has gotten for you

They need the poorer masses strong enough and able bodied in order to sustain productivity in their own isolated economy. It'd wouldn't pay to divert aid only to the elites in Pyongyang.

Yep, and the US have targeted their offices on more than one occasion.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Jazeera_bombing_memo
Frank Gaffney published an opinion piece on 29 September 2003 calling for Al Jazeera to be "taken down" "one way or another" because it constitutes "enemy media"

NK was blocking the SK GPS system a couple of weeks ago to piss them off. 2people were killed on the ground when a plane crashed. SK just OKed $2 billion spend on cruise missiles. The moment NK starts war every military target in the NK will face one of the biggest bombardments in World history.

unfortunately, that's exactly what's going on. army first, then party faithful, then everyone else, if they're still alive.

No and NK best pal has China has refused to increase food aid unless the north agrees to resume disarmament negotiations. The Chinese have increased border patrols because of the recent crime wave caused by armed North Korean defectors in China and they weren't best pleased to find NK agents with bundles of high quality counterfeit Chinese currency.
