Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Contacting Customs

Apologies if I should be posting this somewhere else but I'm not sure where this would go.

I've been asked by an online retailer to check with my local post depot and customs because I contacted them about not receiving an item.
I've checked the post depot and nothing.
But customs. Surely they wouldn't take something off me and not let me know. I can't really find on google a number for them either.

I assumed they would have just apologised to me and shipped another one.

Has anyone ever had previous experiance with contacting the customs office for this kind of thing?
What rights do I have here, can they just refuse to send me another one?

Sometimes customs would hang on to something if it was counterfeit other than that I'm not much help I'm afraid

Are you going to tell us what you bought?

Just ring them -"Howya bud, that customs there yeah? Well, D'use have me package of hash what never arrived ye ballixes?" Not suggesting you lost anything illegal Teddy, but if customs siezed it, maybe best to let it go? Import duty would probably take the shine off any foreign purchase if you had to pay it anyway.

It's definitely not illegal, it's only coming from the UK.
I've never heard of a company wanting you to contact customs though, I don't think you can actually just ring them up and ask them to look for something:confused:.
They called to my door once with my parcel and told me if I wanted it I had to pay the vat on it because it was coming from USA.

Most companies have tracked parcels now alright but a few still seem to just ship it cheaply.
Probably some asshole took it when they see it's not registered.
Cost me €150 too. And I've only bought from them once before so it might look bad.

Have you got back onto the supplier? They should sort it for you, is it insured if it gets lost?

How was it shipped by air or sea?

Nine times out of ten it's an electric razor. But … every once in a while … it's a dildo. Of course, it's company policy never to imply ownership in the event of a dildo. We have to use the indefinite article, "a dildo", never … your dildo.

Quickest way to get hold of customs is to wedge 8 kilos of cocaine up your rectum and wander sheepishly around the local airport.
