    Hey guys,

I am planning on doing a sprint triathlon shortly. I am looking for a budget wetsuit for my initial triathlon. I was considering buying a summer wet suit in the sub £100 price bracket here: http://www.wetsuitcentre.co.uk/mens_summer_wetsuits

    Would that do the trick?

    Any advice greatly appreciated!

    Thanks.

    Hi there,

I'm considering taking the plunge and doing my first tri.
Could anyone recommend a basic entry level wetsuit - is it possible to get one for €100 or so?

    Thanks,
    SS.

If you plan to do further triathlons don't waste your money on a surfing wetsuit. Buy a triathlon/swim wetsuit. If just plan to do one triathlon to see what its like why not rent the wetsuit for the event. A few shops in Ireland rent swim wetsuits e.g. http://www.cyclesuperstore.ie/shop/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=75&idproduct=4471

I'm not sure if it's still the case but CSS used to rent brand new wet suits for the season. You paid the full cost up front and got €200 back on return (of a €300 wetsuit), if you liked the fit and wanted to stick at the sport you could just hang on to the suit at the end of the season.

I picked one up an entry level one in wheelworx there at the weekend, it was €180 but got it for €144 in the sale, not sure if its still on

I'm thinking of renting a suit for the rest of the year as i'm losing weight and i don't want to buy one and that for it to be too big for me last in the year and of no use...................any thoughts ?

Just to say i hope to have 6 to 8 cm off my chest/belly by sept

If you are extra small... http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=60035

Otherwise keep your eye on CRC. Their prices seem to fluctuate.
