UPC cisco EPC3925 - USB port for external HDD

hi i got the UPC cisco EPC3925 wifi modem/router it has a usb port when i connect my HDD the light is on but i cant access the hdd via the url or network places is this usb locked by UPC? is any other UPC customer using USB port?
