Best goal of the tournament so far I think.

I believe that's the second goal that Arshavin has been at fault for in this competition?

    COME ON POLAND!!! :D:D:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,247 ✭✭✭✭Guy:Incognito

Poland managed to get caught 6 on 3 at the back, then break and still only manage to end up attacking with 3 of them on 6 Russians. Has half their team headed off to the pub? :)

Arshavin is the biggest waste of space in world football

Apart from being central to Everything positive Russia have done in the last few games?

Ah come on, that was just brilliant. You cannot blame any player for that, it was a brilliant counter and a great finish.

The next 30 mins should be sensational.

On paper, it looks like a terrible tournament with 1-1 draws all over the shop, but they are all fantastic games.

Without him Russia mightn't have scored their own goals. It evens out.

Just on the build up to that goal, Arshavin went on a run which finished with him making the wrong pass. But on that run, he was tackled by a Polish player who flung himself at Arshavin. The ref should have still went back and booked him, even though Arshavin didn't go down. Not that it's not that important, but just an observation!

I'm not taking away from the goal. It was beautifully hit.

It just amazes me that a player can go from one extreme to the other so often during a game. Arshavin does ridiculously good things and then equally bad things.

And gives the ball away on a constant basis has buckets of talent but would drive you insane his final ball and decision making is terrible

His pass did not cause the Polish player to have a great finish.

Well that goes without bloody saying doesn't it?

The whole move started with a terrible pass from him and that's the second time it has resulted in a goal (if I remember correctly from the last game.)

Russia are going to score again.

They're just a much more skillful and cohesive team :(

I'm sure Arsenal fans would agree with you, but he seems to do the business for Russia in fairness. That probably p!sses the Arsenal fans off more as well.

Shhhhhhh we are trying to sell him for a good price at the moment!!!

Arshavin gives ball away on the opposition 18 yard line and he's to blame? Where were the rest of his team?

Creative players will always give the ball away, that is their nature.

Ah Mary you're being very harsh. He ran half the length of the pitch, hurdled a hatchet tackle along the way, stayed on his feet. Sure he picked the wrong final ball but it was what, 20/25 yards from the Polish goal? Poland still had a hell of a lot to do and even whe they got the ball to the edge of the box it was an unbelivable strike.

It's like someone's parent has told them that it's getting dark and they have to finish soon, so the next goal wins.

"Free expression of football. Uncategorisable. Is that a word? It is now! You know? Small boys in the park, jumpers for goalposts. Rush goalie. Two at the back, three in the middle, four up front, one's gone home for his tea. Marvellous"

To be fair, that's three (I think) fouls on him that the referee's failed to give him (one that he gave against him).

You guys must be watching a different arshavin than me he's terrible

The one he got booked for mouthing about wasn't a foul...

You called him the biggest waste of space in world football which is clearly ridiculous.
