Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Lewandowski should have done much better.

Lewandowski should have done better there I thought.

Ade, what did you make of hamman saying Błaszczykowski will likely move to the premier league next season?

Its all Russia and Poland so far.

Poland may regret these missed chances like they did in the first game.

Big time, they need to be more clinical in front of goal....

Didn't see what Didi said. But out of the BVB players linked with moves away from Dortmund, Kuba is the one who could be on his way out. Club wants to keep him though.

I wouldn't blame him for wanting to leave to a degree. Loves the club, loves the fans but wants first team football.

    Good strike and save.

Good seeing Polanski get forward too.

    edit - thunder is nearby.

    That was a beautiful strike.

Poland are posing the bigger threat, Czechs missing Rosicky big time here; Selassei is the only player with something to cause difficulties to the Polish defense.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,891 ✭✭✭✭klose

Poland play nice football so would like to see em go through however the czechs only need a draw, game needs a goal to get going.

Lewondowski looks like Gary cahill, my pointless observation of the day

Russia really need to up the tempo if they are gonna get a goal, greece are quite happy to have this so slow and laboured, its up to the Russians to force this

Polish CM sitting too deep. Either get Obraniak in the middle by putting on a winger, or bring Wolski on in the middle...

  • Site Banned Posts: 26,456 ✭✭✭✭Nuri Sahin

Think Poland need to switch it up at some point and try something different. Play Kuba just behind Lewandowski and maybe go with a 3-5-2/1-1 formation.

I don't envy the Russians needing to breakdown the Greeks who will be hanging on for dear life.

They're facing a second half Greece team too, best of luck to Russia.

Greece. The kings of second halfs. Never can tell but I predict Russia to bottle it again like v Poland.

They over ran far too many attacks. I think the adrenaline and the occasion is a little problem for the Poles. They need to calm down a bit and just knock the ball around a bit more.

Does Kerzhakov have incriminating photos of Advocaat?

Do Greece finish top if it stays this way?

    It istands

    Russia 1st, Gre 2nd Czech 3rd (I think)

As things stand, Russia still win the group, Greece second.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,255 ✭✭✭Renn

    This group confusing everyone :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Well that was unexpected, the Greeks had a few early moments but never looked like posing a real threat, Russia very fluent and slick but not able to find their shooting range, then BANG one error and the table turned on its head. I can't believe the Ruskies won't find the goal at least once.

Fitness is a far bigger issue in the long term according to numerous sources and Lewandowski has said that himself before.

Kuba is capable of playing the killer ball, and has played there at times in the build up for the tournament.

Ironically Russia were the only team that could beat Greece at Euro 2004.

Greece can only win the group if they beat Russia by 3 or more goals and other game is a draw. (I think!)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,787 ✭✭✭Benimar

Russia 1st at moment but if either Poland or Czech Republic win, Russia go out (assuming Greece hold on)!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,858 ✭✭✭✭average_runner

sure Russia is.top at the moment? how can they go out if Poland win?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,888 ✭✭✭Charisteas

Greece winning 1-0, backs to the wall defending, checking the clock every 30 seconds, been here before...........

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,480 ✭✭✭✭cson

Kerr is hilarious to listen to. Sounds like an oul lad in a pub.

It would then finish Poland 5, Russia 4, Greece 4, Czech 3.
Greece would have winning h2h v Russia.

Russia win a 3 way tie with Greece & Czech Rep on goal difference, but lose a two way tie with Greece on head to head.

If Czechs or Poland win they top group and Greece beat Russia in a two way tie for runner up spot.

Russian keeper was **** for that goal tbh.
