Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Can't see either of these teams doing particularly well. Greece don't look as strong as they did in 2004.

In fairness they almost won a game they were losing and after getting robbed by the ref. They were clearly saving their best for the second half and they almost got the full reward.

He was fantastic for the last five minutes though. Previous 85 minutes should be forgotten and he should be immediately installed as favourite to referee the final.

I thought it was a very entertaining game, the type of game the people who don't like Spain...like. Ups and downs, no control and fast speed until maybe the last ten minutes when the heat got to the players.

I'll stick with Russia and the Czechs to go through, but Greece impressed..

Akinfeev not starting is a surprise.....have baros @80/1 for topscorer so happy he is playing and before u all laugh at me...had him backed in2004 and was 1000euro better off because of it ;)

Can RTE not afford a bloody line to put on the screen?!

    It's offside.

How can anyone argue that's not offside? Great drama, had a few accumulators riding on Poland's win, made it that much more exciting ;P

Great match, referee made too many poor decisions.

Sokratis committed no fouls, Szczesney shouldn't have been sent off (Though the penalty was correct)

    Offside goal was judged correctly.

Poland should have gone through the right flank more in the 2nd half.

    Salpingdis was excellent.

Ninis in 1st half, Lewandowski in 2nd, starved of posession. Pity.

Perquis will be kicking himself for the misses.

    They do that over headsets.

Happy to see Kadlec at LB for the next match.

It wasn't a denial of an obvious goalscoring opportunity, because Salpigdis was moving away from the goal and wasn't in direct control of the ball. And it clearly wasn't any of the other things that you can get sent off for.

I can not agree with you on any level. Fully in control, rounded the keeper, the opportunity of a goal was undeniable. One of the few things he ref got right this evening.

If Szczesney hadn't of tripped him, he was through on goal with no opposition player between him and the goal line ... how is that not a denial of an obvious goal-scoring oppurtunity?!!!

If you look at his touch that took him past Szczęsny its fairly obvious he was going to score. Bar a horrendous miss.

He wasn't in control and he wasn't going toward goal at that time.

    But let's agree to disagree.

He doesnt need to be in control of the ball . The ref had to consider whether he would get on the end of the ball, which he would had he not been fouled

I love when people make up rules, or take what they hear "experts" say to be a rule.

It's the same with "two feet off the ground" in a tackle, it's not written anywhere as a Law, nor is "being in control" of a tackle.

    they are just buzzwords.

The ref had no option but to show red IMO. As clear a goal scoring opportunity as you are likely to see.
