Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Apres Match is where its at.

    :pac:

They've been terrible so far (hardly surprising really). You gotta wonder who does the research for them, or more likely that no research is done at all.

Not sure why Brady is going on about 2010 - ten players from the squad in the WC are at the Euros. So there has been quite a bit of a change (from manager to the way they play etc).

they have always given the impression they dont do much research about teams before games, they always analyse the game as it happens. i love the panel and they are entertaining at the very least. its the "B" panel that do more homework than the senior lads

I reckon they don't actually watch any games other than the ones they work on.

Possibly but they are ahead when it comes to analysing what they have just watched

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,555 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

So we are now analysing the analysis.

I don't care about their research, they are terrific entertainment and very passionate.

I will miss them when they retire.

Wouldn't watch it on any other channel, guaranteed entertainment

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

You are in Poland, Ronnie! RTE need to send him some Tayto pretty quick.

Hamilton throwing stats out there that were totally wrong.

I for one am not averse to hearing George Hamilton citing incorrect stats, mispronouncing players names or using over elaborate metaphors.

I think we've always done that haven't we? There's been threads on various aspects of it before.

Complaining about the RTE panel not doing their research is like going out with a glamour model and complaining when she doesn't cook your dinner.

no, but you can expect to be called on it if you are criticising things that people criticise every time this happens.

We know they are bad, but they are entertaining.

We know the hipsters prefer "knowledgeable" pundits, but they are boring, bland and afraid to say what they think on ITV and BBC.

RTE makes up for it's failings on the information front by being trolling geniuses, and funny, and colourful.

Yes....and then they follow it up with Apres Match!

...and anyone who doesn't like it, and is posting in this thread, is a clown pretty much. You can always change channels to watch Gary "the king of the puns" Linekar winking at you.

If you can't afford other TV channels, then your opinion doesn't really count tbh.

yeah, that's shít, I was out for the start of the match and had talksport on, via the phone, and they cut off at kick off.

So Ronnie is a co-commentator instead of being on the 'B' panel....is that a promotion or relegation?

Certainly hope RTE bring in some kind of outside pundit to keep things from getting stale whether that be Souness, Hamann or somebody else.

Excellent pronunciation of the Greek defenders by Liam there...

And there was me thinking he was having it tough with the Polish players.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,379 ✭✭✭✭Oat23

The pronunciation is shocking, take a few minutes to learn the names before the game lads?!

But as people have said already, they know their stuff analysing what they have seen.

    Linguistics lessons from Liam Brady.

McGeady. Even Trap can't pronounce it.

I don't think it matters if they're linked with him or not - they'll do it regardless. You'd swear he was an unknown by the way they're going on about him.

Seemed a fairly legit question. Do you think hed be a good buy for United considering they have Rooney,Welbeck and Chicarito. Plus alot of people watching wont know much about Lewandowski even though he was excellent for dortmund this season.

I'm sure UK residents will be delighted to see license payers money is going towards paying for multi-millionaire Alan Shearer to go for a jolly to the Euros.

Can he not just spout his **** punditry from the studio like the rest of them?
