Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Did he just refuse an non-Irish journo question because he was 'non-Irish'?

Or was he just peeved that the guy didn't know Ireland hadn't been in the Euros in 24 years.

I think Manuela does a fairly shít job when it comes to getting Traps point across to the media.

Why not just let him speak Italian and then she can translate.

In fairness, there's not much she can do when he speaks English.

Think he was on about how he wasn't Irish he didn't understand how good an achievement making the euros after 24 years.

Also can't even hear the questions

She should explain to him that his English is ****e and let her do a proper translation of what he wants said

Trap: The first 90 minutes are very important?

  • Registered Users Posts: 263 ✭✭ShaneScouse

In some odd way i do feel a little sorry for trap, (yes i know he gets paid a gazillion dollars every year and should have learnt english fluent by this stage) but the lads 73 and didnt need english till very very late in life, be hard to learn it at that stage esp if your brain is for football not education.

Must be so hard and frustrating to try get your point across so hard yet hit the language barrier.

From the little I could hear, a good few of the journalists sounded British.

I only recognised him and Tony O'Donoghue. Don't like either of them as interviewers. One asks retarded questions (Burton) and the other seems to try and create a bit of controversy with the tone of his questions (O'Donoghue).

Manuela you saucy minx! It was you all along.

What other languages can she speak? I reckon this should weigh heavily on who the next manager is.

We could get her to interpret 'Arry Redknapp for us...

TBH respect is all good and well I think everyone would be a winner if we didn't have to end these press conferences more baffled than before they started.

The usual massive begrudgery from the chip on the shoulder brigade - and nobody in there with the spine to challenge this nonsense. They pick on a couple of bad passes and call that analysis. What about the possession stats ?

If Ireland had produced a performance like that, they'd be swinging from the light shades.

Given the quality of Irish players they'd be right to do so.

Haha. Not really. Ireland rubbish on the ball. England rubbish on the ball too. They're just calling a spade a spade. If England could actually hold onto the ball for more than 10 passes they'd be dangerous. As true today as it has been for the last 20 years.

No they wouldnt. The performance was almost exactly like Ireland actually. Uninspired, solid enough defensively against an average team and scraping a lead.

Does conceding seven goals in two games constitute solid defence now ??

Ireland got hammered twice. England are winning a game they only need to draw. No comparison - and Dunphy, the old bigot, is winding himself up and trying to find the courage for a big finale in which he criticises the manager, the players, the tactics, the supporters, their songs and maybe even our Queen that he professes to love so dearly.

    Bring it on baby !
