Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The Dunph is tipping us to get out of the group so he can say either that he was saying it all along, or that it was a very hard group...

Don't think they mentioned England once when I was watching it for nearly 10 minutes there.

    He knows his LOI too

Think he's a great find for RTE and they should have him on every panel

RTE Panel were talking absolute crap about van Bommel and Marwijk there. There is no falling out.

"Denmark are heavily reliant on how well Christian Eriksen links up with Bendtner."

Feck off out of here with that accurate statement Richie Sadlier, the Dunphy approach of "The players we know are Agger... Bendtner... Dennis Rohmmedahl was at Charlton." Is what we are here for :pac:

So far (according to RTE) 'Robin Van Bommel' and 'Robben van Persie' (whilst referring to Arjen Robben) play for The Netherlands.

Also "Kirk" came on in the second half for the Netherlands.

A bag of potatoes would offer more insight than Shearer and Hansen.

The 3 main RTE lads are the worst of the lot.

Fine work in his Euro 2012 predictions for Alan Hansen this morning.

When asked 'who will win and why?' by The BBC Website, old Al dipped into the deep knowledge pool and tireless research for which he's famous and offered the following four semi-finalists:

    '1. Spain 2. Germany 3. Netherlands 4. Portugal.'

All of which would be fine, if Germany, the Netherlands and Portugal were not in the same group, and thus only two of them will be able to advance to the quarter-finals.

We hope you'll all join us in offering a round of applause.
    Another Football365 Mediawatch masterpiece.

Eamon; ''I'm not sure if Podolski has got it anymore''

He's just turned 27 and has 18 goals this season.

Whats wrong with that prediction? He isn't asked who will make it to the knockout stages. Just because three of them are in the same group doesn't mean that all three can't be in his three favourites to win.

He is clearly of the belief that whichever of the three qualify for the knockout rounds will be amongst the strongest squads and most likely winners, not really that audacious or difficult to understand.

It seems I don't know what I'm missing, being a Brit.

Then again I don't really pay attention to the pundits on BBC/ITV, except Dixon/Southgate/Seedorf. Not happy when Hansen replaced Dixon for the second game today.

His analysis is either wrong or just showing a few crosses or something...

you might be able to watch here: http://www.aertv.ie/#rte-two-hd or is it geo-blocked? still ways around that too though

if you've read this thread can you imagine what reaction the guys from RTÉ would get if they were with sky or the BBC for example, i very much doubt it'd be the same

He's getting better - and the panel for the Germany v Poland game was better than the norm for RTE Sport.

Dunphy was in an "elder statesman" type role and his summing up seemed to be more measured and balanced (e.g. his analysis of Ronaldo's contribution was fairer than usual).

Hamann has been on before and is good, but was not sufficiently robust to be
able to defend his initial summing up of Germany's performance.

Sadler is a welcome addition, but he's obviously watched too many of these RTE panels because, once he had said all he had to say (and what he had to say was very good), he fell into the lazy old RTE anti-Ronaldo routine.

Maloney was ready for this, and effectively challanged, but what we then got was another round of waffle on Ronaldo, when what we needed was a change of subject.

Contrast this with the BBC's coverage of the earlier game. 'Arry and Dixon disagreed over the penalty decisions, each said their piece, no attempts by anyone to browbeat the others - the discussion moved on. Lineker uses humour well to poke fun at panelists who make stupid comments (e.g. Dunphy would be ridiculed for his comment about Ronaldo's hair cut if he made it on the Beeb ). When the conversation dried up at one point , Lineker started asking 'Arry about the England job, and what followed was the best piece of sports journalism I have seen in a while (even if they had probably rehearsed it).
