Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ger Canning completely messed up that sentence, and just wouldn't stop talking and let it die. I actually said "Oh god just stop!" as he butchered it.

    You noticed it too then?

EPL bias is nothing new from those numpties, afterall, it's all they watch. I hear from a mate that ITV are saying similar as well re: Huntelaar / playing down RVP being poor.

The Dutch need a manager who can steady the ship and bring warring parties together.

Is it not down to Huntelaar's mouthing about how he should be starting. He's started and was shït. Cue opprobrium.

That is not to say that he alone should shoulder the blame.

Holland considering the players the have at their disposal have been a disgrace the worst team in the competition for me I know we were crap but we haven't exactly got an embarrassment of riches

Is Ger Canning seriously the next best available commentator after George? He was shocking tonight; lost count how many mistakes he made during the commentary. Each one of them could be defined as relatively minor, but there was that many of them. For instance, excusing mistaking Benfica for Barcelona with ''well; they're both B's''.

In fairness they hardly passed the ball to him all night.

Public and media opinion wanted him starting ahead of RVP first off, as he had earned his place for many during qualifying. I'd agree with them. That's not to say RVP is worse player than Huntelaar but due to friction between him and Snejider and the fact that RVP takes up too many similar positions to Sneijder, VDV and Robben. It gets in the way of the team. Holland need someone who will remain upfront and finish off chances.

Would Huntelaar had been as bad if he had got the minutes RVP did? I don't think so. But sure, we'll never know now. Service to the strikers bar the first game has been extremely poor too which doesn't help.

Massive black mark against him for talking about a potential semi-final between Portugal and Germany.
Basic research (surely looking at the knockout draw counts as basic research) would have shown him the qualifiers from each group go into different halves of the draw.

How did the official behind the goal not see the foul on Bendtner. Shocking.

Where is the lad that was saying earlier the refs behind the goal actually do make a contribution? The penalty for Bendtner was 10 yards away from him, why didnt he give it? As far as I can see they're a waste of time.

Its been said about 50 million times already that it is not their job to give decisions.

They can advise the ref when he asks them, they have no power.

    Better?

Frank Rijkaard probably deserves another go.

Desperately unlucky in 2000 with his team scoring 13 goals in 4 games en route to the semi-final, then missing two penalties in 90 minutes against Italy, and inevitably losing a penalty shoot-out in the same game.

Twelve years on, six of them spent winning trophies at Barcelona pre-PepG, Rijkaard deserves the chance to right some wrongs imo.

Ach, if Brazil can win the World Cup 3 times with managers on their second shot then it can't be such a bad move.
