Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Your rivals relying on such a bottler must make you feel good. :)

Ah that penalty miss vs Dortmund, good times :pac:

Any of my friends will tell of my legendary irrational hatred (as they use to say) for the guy. Think finally people are finally understanding it though. Has his moments, but so utterly frustrating and clueless a lot of the times. Annoys me when defenders don't show him on his outside too, Agger has today and he's had no joy from him.

Makes for an interesting group. Hope Portugal can take something from the Germans!

    Well done Kaer and Agger.

    Well deserved.

However It should have been a penalty at the end.

    Really poor by the officials.

he's only 33 and still pretty quick. being able to run 100m in 11 seconds, he's gonna be quick even at that age.

and perhaps the kid is just slow, look at ian harte, he was always slow

Well, that was actually my point, that the left back must have been slow

We can do this to Spain.

allow them to have 28 chances on goal and hope they dont score?

Lucky Denmark, but fair play lads not many gave youa chance and youve already got3pts in the group of death

Money on the game by any chance?

We can do this to Spain.

Haha. Maybe if we had guys like Bentner and Rommedahl to relieve the pressure or actually tried regaining possession occasionally and then actually did something with it.

Dutch are terrible that's a poor Denmark team that beat them

Portugal are only a top class striker away from being a really good side.

If only they had Bendtner in their team.

Kjaer is like the David Healy of defenders. Unremarkable at club level, Beckenbauer at international level.

Reminds me when Switzerland beat Spain in their first game!

I don't like both de Jong and Van Bommel starting. Strootman should be playing instead of one of them.

You won't see a better pass than this in the rest of the tournament.

Denmark are a much much better side than Switzerland to be fair.

It is actually retarded to start them both against teams like Denmark and tell them both to sit.

    St Ledger aswell

St. Ledger is Scirea in training, St. Ledger at club level and Babb at international level.

Amazed at that, Denmark weren't that good but beat the Dutch.

Think the Dutch were overrated going into this tournament. Still can't believe they got to the World Cup final.

    Delighted the Dutch were beaten.

Imo not many players would try it, but it was a straight pass to RVP. i.e if Arshavins pass yesterday for the 2nd goal yesterday was meant for the scorer than that was a better pass.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,014 ✭✭✭✭Corholio

The Dutch are so one dimensional it's ridiculous, kept doing the same things that weren't working. Also it was like 10 players + Robben. He just waits for the ball, runs a bit and shoots it over the bar, then rinse and repeat.

It was to Huntelaar and it was unbelievably good in fairness

    That definitely wasn't Arshavin's intention.

Amazing how much hinges on so little in this group...Should Germany win in this game coming up and Denmark beat Portugal on wednesday, Holland will be playing to stay in the competition against the Germans...and to be entirely honest, they gave the danish midfield so much room today that one can only imagine Özil, Götze and co would tear them apart

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,416 ✭✭✭Jimmy Iovine

Wesley Sneijder created 10 goalscoring chances for #NED v #DEN - no player has created more in a Euro Finals game between 1980-2012.

It looks straight there but they showed a different angle on BBC and it showed the curl. Unbelievable pass.

A straight pass? It was hit with the outside of his foot with pace and was pinpoint. Stunning pass.

Twitter is rife with praise for Denmark's Chelsea-esque defensive performance.
what a shock! Denmark were brilliant defensively played exactly like Chelsea did in the Champions league final

In all fairness he was absolutely unreal today. Shame the same couldn't be said for many of his teammates

Delighted with that! Serves the Dutch right for choosing Northern Ireland at home as their final warm up game. Agger was great at the back too.

    Why is Alan Shearer shouting?

Both he and Jake Humphries were shouting because of the noise, they could barely hear themselves but through the mic's it just came across as megaphones!!!!

Agreed. Cant understand why the RTE boys were so negative about him.

Strongly feel Germany will not win this game. Prepared for subsequent LOLs in 2 hours time :)

A strongly out of form Gomez starting ahead of Tournament machine Klose, a genuinely ropey back 4 even with Lahm, and i think the likes of Khadira/Ozil have not gone on to be the superstars a lot of people thought they would be. YET. Still time.

I'd go as far to suggest Germany will be bottom of Group B tonight.

Watching a Germany match on RTE has not been the same since Carsten Jancker retired.
