sanding stairs

    What would be the best tool to sand a stairs so I can paint it etc. It is going very gruby looking.

    I refurbed an old stairs bannisters wth an electric drill and an M3 sanding/scouring pad/disc attachment.

    Flew through all the old varnish and dirt that had built up on the bannisters over many years.

    Brought it back to the bare wood in no time at all,and then restained it with 3 costs of Ronseal.

    Turned out great indeed.:)
