Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How can you judge how they're doing on ideas after two short sketches?

Well you have to take each sketch on its merits & the first 2 were not up to standard there murpho.

Much better tonight doh, chuckled a bit at "were out of this tournament baby!".

Brady's mumbling when Bill asked Eamonn if he would be working for free was priceless.

Thought Saturday's was amusing enough, but tonight's shows that they should stick to the panel format.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Thought last nights sketch was v good, esp the supporting our neighbours accross the channel .....france line. Even the "henry" incident not being enough to cheer on England

I met Packie Bonner and one of the Apres Match guys Ristoird Cooper (?) in Doheny and Nesbitts a few years back. It was past closing and we had a lock in.
I was stuck between the two of them and I said to the Apres Match guy could he do his impression of Packie Bonner and then I could see who did the better Packie Bonner. Packie or Apres Match...
I got the cold shoulder, no sense of humour those comedians they cant take it, only if they are making the jokes I guess

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,589 ✭✭✭✭Necronomicon

I don't think I'd want them doing panel format for every sketch (it might wear a bit thin after a while, as great as they tend to be) but I do find their non-panel sketches very hit and miss. Though if they stuck to non-panel sketches then we never would have gotten classics like the parody of Dunphy's ad for writing in The Star or Andy Reid's secret meeting with Brian Kerr (both below).

At least if they're going show 'classics', then show classics! This thread has enough material!!!

I'd agree but it was a good one. Had one of my favourite Aprés Match lines as well.

"If you can turn a fella G-A-Y, then you can turn him G-A-A"

I'd rather no Apres Match than classic Apres Match. (Even though it is a funny sketch.)

I think just the end was cut off, I think it was just Pat Spillane saying goodbye though.

That sketch is very funny but its the fact its 6 years old is why people are giving out (to a certain extent).
