Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

USA v Antigua

Jurgen Klinsmann's USA side are kicking off their WCQ campaign around now if anyone's interested.

Antigua's whole population could fit into the 75,000 seater Tampa stadium, but with household names such as Dexter Blackstock and Mikele Leigertwood in their side can they provide an upset?

The Guardian are providing a live ticker for the match. God knows why.

USA will hammer them. They looked decent in their recent friendly against Scotland.

    Oh god, McCoy is playing.

Down here in Wycombe he's percieved as some kind of footballing god by my mates who like football. I don't really know why. They'll be raving about him for hours now...

Household names?? I've heard of Dexter Blackstock alright! But unless you're house is located in Antigua, you're expression is way off the mark, unless you're being a tad facetious.

A household name is someone like Ryan Giggs or Steven Gerrard!!

Have the Barbuda lads been given the day off?

USA have been a bit of a pain in the ass to back lately, but they really should annihilate Antigua, they have never even played a team of the USA's quality I think.

Leigertwood will be gracing the Premier League with Reading next season, always liked him.

Five of the starting lineup play in England btw.

What odds did you get? On PP they were 1/80.

Balls. Had to go with a wedding load here. Any sign of a fightback?

Just looking a the concacaf qualification process. It's quite unwieldy. If you were a first round team you'd theoretically play 2 first round games, 6 second round, 6 third round and 10 fourth round. Even teams like the USA will have to play 16 games.

The USA are so poor in front of goal the last while, with the players they have they should be scoring so much more then they do

    1/80? Jesus

They were 1/25 during the week, then 1/50, just before KO they were 1/40 on bet365, dunno about anywhere else

I have to mark this day down, this is the day I give up completely on the USA from a betting POV.

(Almost) Impossible is right. It must be the hardest federation of all for any upcoming team (not counting OFC , which can be discounted in most discussions anyway). Only 3.5 places available and USA/Mexico have pretty much owned two of them for 20 years now.

Just to make things worse you have to go thru 16 games just to do it (or 22 in A&B's case.

On the plus side the 4th Concacaf team plays the OFC winner this time round so it'll be easier than Costa Rica got last time around (drawn v Uruguay).
