The bernoulli trials are not hard don't worry , they go by success and failure. an example is a dice , question- what is the chance you will get tails on second throw? You want a tail so we will call tails success , so you get a fail first( you don't want the head) then success ( the tail). you do probability of getting the fail (a head) which is 1/2 multiplied by probability of getting a success (a tail) 1/2 which gives you 1/4. sorry if i confused you i was trying to help :P

Im afriad Maths Paper 2 will be the cause of my first 'late-night-cram' of the LC.
    So unprepared.

Does anyone else who does DCG feel that the knowledge from that subject helps a lot with Maths Paper 2? Especially with the enlargements and constructions parts. Was terrified about the exam until i started studying today and it struck me as being fairly easy :P It's just really annoying that we only have one or two exam papers to study off! They could have released three of four to give us more of a coverage of what could be asked. That's life I suppose! If what comes up isn't like what is in the 2012 SEC sample paper then I'm ****ed!

I really do not understand Trig I was able to earlier but I can't seem to do any other question other than the sample 2012. I can't do standard deviation for ages since 6th year in my last school. I can do the section A parts and area and volume but 5A/5B Q6/7 I can't do them.

    http://sonia.hubpages.com/hub/stddev

found that guide on how to do standard deviation manually.

So in OL we don't have to prove theorems, just know how to recognise them?

You know the stem and leaf chart I'm not sure how to get it from that Do I add all the big numbers up of the results in the stem and leaf graph :S.

Just starting my studying for this exam too. So this Empirical Rule... Where the hell is it found in the questions on Paper 2? Will it actually state it in the question, or is it one of those questions phrased in a way that you should know it means the E. rule?

Just bring a maths set, 'cause you might need a 30 and 60 degree set square and a compass for the exam, too.

Can you do the paper in pencil?
I always use pencil whenever I'm doing project maths.
And since there's little space if you go wrong.

I'd say aye, it's not against the rules. Just make sure it's clear and easy to read so it won't piss off the examiner. (:

Be careful if you're going to do it in pencil!

    That stuff can easily fade!
