Rent Negotiation

    Hi,

I am wondering if anybody could point me in the right directions for a few areas regarding moving into rented accommodation.

The properties we are looking at are around 1200.

Is this going to be negotiable? I can afford this, but I would rather pay as little as possible as I assume everyone would.

What would you request off this price? I would ideally pay 1000, but this is not going to happen. How much should I expect as a general rule to get off? Or at least what should I initially offer?

Any help would be much appreciated. I also realize that its going to be dependent on the property in questions etc.

All depends on the area, comparable houses/ flat's rent etc. Generally, offering 10-15% below asking price is perfectly reasonable, especially if you seem a good prospect (stable job, good references, non smoker, no big pets).
