Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Fantastic instincts, doesn't even know she's on camera and still able to pull duckface.

    Dunphy.

We have not played well at times by far but there is nothing worse then having a game's scoreline being decided by a ref rather then the football!

too many final scores are influenced by referees these days.

    Astutely observed.

Hard luck Andrews. Would have made it interesting.

Injury time now and it's 3-1.

Looks like we're beat but not to worry it's only Spain & Italy next!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,511 ✭✭✭✭noodler

I am not sure we can have too many complaints about the result.

So we can no longer afford to just let Spain roll us over.

    So be it.

Because you've put that ****in bollix Keane in the team!

Yeah, get our all time top scorer out of the team that will help.

This is just getting embarrasing from the bandwagoners, the comments & suggestions there coming out with.

if we had got that penalty it could have been different, too many referee's making too many mistakes! :(

Quick, get RTE to run a poll asking if we'll beat Italy & Spain. That always works.

Can't bear to watch the next two games, we will be truly torn apart.

Modric destroyed us tonight. Just wait until Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Xabi Alonso, Fabregas, Silva get at us.

Worst possible start, made such a balls of this.

Not too worried. Most of them are diminutive.

Andrews the only one that looked like scoring. By hitting shots off target.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,555 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

Only positive I can now draw is that Trap will have to give them freedom to go for it against Spain like we did against France in Paris in 2009.

    I'm clutching at straws though.

Andrews should have scored at least 1 at this stage...

I'd say results will be about 82% yes for Spain and 99% yes for Italy.

In fairness we've had our chances in the second half tonight. Look we've nothing to lose and regardless of the results in this tournament lessons will be learned. All they can do is go out the next two games and have a proper cut at it. In fairness to Ireland they played to the bitter end tonight. We havent the quality of the Croats but there is great heart and spirit there. Proud to be Irish.

So proud of our wonderful fans singing away after that.

Very dissapointing. Our defence was worse
Than normal which is our strong point usually. They were the better team tho.

No one in the team performed. Why not drop all of them then?

Subs were terrible from Trap. Why no wingers.

Ireland 2-1 Spain (Torres OG x2, Torres)
    Ireland 1-0 Italy (Balotelli OG)

    'mon boys

    Two wins required.

    So be it.

So angry because Croatia didn't have to do anything for their goals. So sloppy.

If we go for it against Spain we would lose maybe 5 or 6-0.

Best we can hope for is parking the bus and hoping for something on the break, but most likely lose 2 or 3-0.

Andrews the only one having a go for the last 10 minutes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,796 ✭✭✭CptMackey

Maybe we will go out with a different plan for the next two games. Less standing off and more pressing the opposition when they have the ball. We have very little go
    Forward ball really.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,397 ✭✭✭Paparazzo

We weren't woeful, 15 shots to croatia's 20. And considering we had a definite peno not given, and their first goal was a complete fluke, we weren't that bad.
Can't picture us getting anything against Spain or Italy though :(
