Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

No far right parties in Ireland

Why are there no far right parties with influence in Ireland? The political class has abandoned the white working class, yet the white working class will not vote for a far right party, strange.

They're all based in Dublin, that's on the far right.

That's mad. I thought Irish parties were for all Irish people, not just a few select skin colours.

Current parties actually seem to hate the white working class.

    Austerity, bailing out the banks.

    Define "white"*.

In other news, Irish people looked at examples of far right-wing parties in other countries and decided they didn't work.

" It is a deliberate misrepresentation to suggest that tens of thousands will suddenly descend en masse on Ireland." [Proinsias De Rossa, I.T.Letters, 20/8/2002

" I estimate that fewer than 2,000 will choose our distant shores each year." [P.De Rossa, I.T. Letters, 20/8/2002 ]

And himself an MEP, he's supposed to know what is happening in Europe

" It is the view of the Irish government and a number of other governments
that this idea that there is going to be a huge influx of immigrants is just
not supported. The evidence is just not there for it. They are not going to
flood to the west. The same rules are going to apply in all 15 states. There
is no evidence to suggest that the people of the Czech Republic or Poland
are less anxious to stay in their home as (sic) we are.
[ Dick Roche transcript of interview with The Irish Catholic, Govt.
    Buildings 19/9/2002. ]

" The second myth is that the Nice Treaty will mean mass immigration from
the new EU member countries in Eastern Europe. This is probably the most
odious of the myths propagated by some in the "No" campaign."
    [ Willie O'Dea Sunday Independent Summer 2002]

Well our current leaders haven't a clue
Or maybe they wanted to support the employers and landlords lobby, they just love cheap labour

You should stop borrowing your opinions from American fascists.

What we should do is stop responding to trolls (if you'll forgive the irony).

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Yes, this white minority nonsense comes from America with every second red neck complaining their fat lazy arses are being made uncomfortable by other races.

There is no white minority or close to it in Ireland. I'd have to get in my car and drive to a large town/city in the hopes I'd find a black person. To think they're taking over is alarmist nonsense.
