There's a fair few extremely talented artists in my family. My grandmother is wonderful. She's tried to teach me but I have failed in that regard completely :pac:. I'm a craft-y person though. I can make things. It's fun :)

    Nor me.

I always hated having to draw stuff in primary school. I drew houses, trees, the odd flower, every. single. time.

    I loved colouring in though.

My boyfriend is mind-blowingly talented with drawing.

He can do comicbook, movie, original characters, entire landscapes, you name it. Every time we go to a family gathering my aunts all tell anyone who will listen how good he is.

Myself, on the otherhand. Awful..

One of my college tutors told me my drawing wasn't up to secondary school level never mind Third Level, that sentence stuck in my head for years. Another lovely drawing tutor helped me to play to my strengths and a year after the first cow of a tutor said my drawing was awful I got a Distinction in it in my Interior Design course :) I can draw exact replicas of real life things, can't draw from my imagination at all. Except garlic, I drew so many garlic bulbs in college that I can draw them perfectly from memory, my bag smelled of them for the full year :D:o

No because the tutors in my first college were so thick they wouldn't recognise us 30 minutes after a class never mind a year later, utter pricks the lot of them. My friend shamed the Year Head in front of an external review person. There were only 12 I think in the final year (always had small numbers each year), and the Year Head did a whole work review with my friend only to get her name wrong at the end of it, such was their level of not giving a crap about who anyone was. She said "It's Ciara, Peter, Ciara! I've been here for 4 years, at least get my f-in name right!". The tutors were such ridiculous arty farty sh*tes that they could barely wash in the morning never mind care about students, the amount of drop outs was unreal.

I painted an awesome painting at Christmas, of fuschias, very proud of it! My mother didn't believe me that I'd done it, until she realised I am way too cheap to pay for an actual painting, the "real" version of it was €250.
