Wait til you get to your "wedding season", after stupidly whinging last year that I never get to go to weddings I am now facing into a year of weddings, hen parties, engagement parties, and therefore expensive presents and nights out, topped off nicely by our own wedding, by which stage I will be stony broke! :( I never went to many 21st's due to being lazy and having a tiny group of friends, the weddings are going to be a killer. At least I don't need new dresses, will finally get to wear them all, a positive I suppose

just a quick hi, baby zoe arrived last night weighing an impressive 9 pound 10!

very traumatic birth that has me in intensive care, but at least its over!

Congrats Java and your OH, glad to hear baby Zoe is here, hope you recover quickly!

Sooo I'm going out tonight, and I'm single for the first time in over two years. I have a perdy dress and I'll be getting all dolled up, but I'd put good money on me ending up drunkenly crying in a corner by 2am :o

Be jealous of me and my youth! :P My aunt said to me the other day, "You think that's bad? All MY friends are turning 50 this year :( "

Which reminds me, I need more dresses. I've hardly any, and I still have 3 more 21sts to go. Aaaaaaaaaagh

They all had different reasons for pulling out at the last minute - all of which smacked of couldn't be bothered. I'm just annoyed because the thing he has wanted to do forever they couldn't do because there weren't enough of them, his best man seems to have made very little effort and I know if my OH was his best man he'd have pulled out all the stops. Can't be helped I suppose think I'm just being very defensive of his feelings!!

Self control is... Having house to myself and really wanting a Chinese but instead heating up a weightwatchers meal and having it with Pepsi max rather than wine!

I'd be looking forward to it too except ours will be after all of them so I'll be worrying about saving for it.

On the stag do thing, people will always pull out of that type of thing, always, that is pretty much why I wouldn't organise a big one. People will be broke/tired/sick/just busy and stag or hen dos aren't a priority tbh, especially if you've to pick between going to the wedding or it, it's too much money for a lot of people to spend to do both.

Also, if a couple is invited to both the stag and the hen party, they might not be able to afford to do both, plus the wedding itself.
It's a shame though Angel D, I hope your OH enjoys himself anyway. It might work out better for him if he has less to organise.

Their headquarters aren't in the US and they hadn't seen the news yet, understandable.

CelebBoutique got too much stick for that. Mistakes happen. Aurora was trending on twitter, I'm sure they didn't expect the reason behind it was anything terrible.

Aurora is the town where the shooting at the Batman movie happened, it was trending on twitter so that company used it to hawk something without checking why it was trending.

I had assumed it was something to do with the Aurora Borealis when I first saw it. Never in a million years would I ever assume it would be anything so horrific.

The reaction to that tweet was beyond disproportionate.

I'm not on Twitter or anything but I love the word/name Aurora, isn't that Sleeping Beauty's name? The last thing you'd think when seeing it trending would be the horror that actually happened.

they'll be checking trending reasons from now on though, 2 seconds of googling would have told them why

I've been avoiding the news today (it all verges on misery porn) but something reddit users dug up about the shooter in Colorado keeps going around in my head. He had no social media profiles but did have an Adult Friend Finder profile simply saying:
"Will you visit me in prison?"
I don't know why I find that more disturbing than the news footage but I shudder every time I think about it. He set it up two weeks ago, put a picture of himself with his dyed hair up and baited women to come have sex with him in prison.

The worst thing is, I'm sure some will.

Java, *huge hugs* to you, really hope you're ok xxxxxxx Rest up and be sure to look after YOU. Try not to be worrying about Zoe, I'd say her daddy and the nurses are spoiling her rotten:D:D:D

Agh only discovered halfway through the 2nd concert that Barenboim's doing a full cycle of Beethoven symphonies at the BBC Proms! Caught the last movement of it there though, and now I'm feeling pumped :D Nothing like some heroic Beethoven to get you moving!

Rest of the family are home and I'm in bits - couldn't do the ironing with the stupid fe*king cat, she kept jumping and I'm still fairly nervous of her tbh. Feel like a complete idiot :(:(

It could also be cause you're just back from a longish stay in London? The difference in the pollution levels had me completely bogged for a few days any time I came home when I lived there. A lad I once knew that was an environmental scientist once told me the air in Dublin Airport (on a per minute exposure ) was cleaner than the air in central London, but how true that is, is anyone's guess..

Thanks! Well he's going out tonight too (different town) and I'm gonna be crapping myself! Even though we can both be with other people if we want.

I hope you have fun too, it's better to wait a while than going out this weekend! Give yourself a bit of time :)
