Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Poor from Hart!!

This sums up Hart. He always seems to make a great save, but lets in a lot of goals that he really should do better with. Best keeper in the world me arse.

Trap and Roy traded tactics. Remarkable how similar both teams reacted to scoring a goal.

The fall of Joe Hart beginning today it seems :)

He was poor for the goal and the flap earlier, thankfully he is the golden boy so shouldnt get much stick yet.

Speaking of goalkeepers, Lloris was poor also, the ball was inside the 6 yard box before Lescott connected with it, poor from the keeper and the defender there, ball went a long way.

Just now I made the same point on Twitter. For all Lloris this that, he was Shay Givenesque in dealing with crosses, at least for this set piece.

Games so far in Ukraine been poor enough atmosphere-wise, haven't they?

Yeah, very flat. Its such a massive country though, neutrals cant just decide they will go because if they are in the wrong side of Ukraine, or in Poland, they have a mammoth journey, on poor transport ahead of them. Whereas a Neutral wanting to see a game in Poland, its that much smaller, with that much better travel links its that bit easier.

And if the locals aren't interested, you get empty seats (like in Euro 96, any game not featuring home nation was often half empty, and England as a country doesn't have the same excuse as Ukraine)

England to come out and play abit for 15 mins then sit back for half an hour and concede

England sitting back is only making France grow in confidence.

This is the problem with Roy teams. I actually really like the 11 and the shape he came out with. There was a huge amount of scope for dynamism, like we saw with some early moves and interplay amongst the front four. But now it's just reverted to two banks of four, deep defending and hoofing it away. Have a bit of ****ing faith in your players like! And as far as the players are concerned - have a bit of faith in yourselves and your teammates!

    +1

    Spot on.

Hamann is a decent pundit. Johnny is more slumped than normal today. Must have upped the valium dose.

    In Roy we trust.

Good to see Roys wife lending support.

If Milner had slotted his chance away it could have been even better.
I know it was at an angle but I still expected him to slot it into the net

England might as well chuck Carroll and Walcott on.

Instead of trying to take advantage of France's only real weakness they are letting them dominate the ball in the middle and final third, their biggest strength.

I worry that with Roy on a 4 year contract, we may see another 2 years and 2 weeks of this!

Is that another whistle in the crowd?

Better from England now, much more of what we should be seeing.

Bad sign for a match when there is a Mexican wave during play.

nope, no dive. body checked from the side.

With the poor English traveling support, I suspect there's probably a lot of neutrals in the crowd.

I agree, brilliant tactical game played at a breathless pace. I think the referees in this tournament have let a lot of stuff go and the games have generally flowed very well!

England getting nothing from this ref

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,988 ✭✭✭SirDelboy18

Any time an English player goes down ITV call a foul. Very annoying.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 630 ✭✭✭bwatson

Another debatable decision from the referee, to say the least!

that's either a corner because he got the ball, or a free kick because he didn't.

Id like to see a slower replay of that challenge on Johnson, but I think Ribery might have nicked the ball before he cannoned into Johnson.

Think it should have been a corner.

Logically i dont know how it could have possibly been no free, and no corner...

The longer the game goes on like this the more I fancy England to get one. They need to commit more in the box for crosses though

Game is crying out for some Big Andy! Cud see him do well here esp v Mexes.
