Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Could have been sent off for 2 yellows in the 1st half. No idea how he hasn't been at least booked yet.

Ref finds him sexually attractive also

Ox has had a good game imo. Himself and Welbeck have done as much as they could do. Gerrard should be doing more.

Those payments for England caps keep piling up. Thanks Roy!

Could all go pear shaped when that exclusive comes out though

England's formation, set-up and tactics are giving me such awful flashbacks of the Liverpool team under Hodgson. He still thinks that setting up his team as if he's managing a team of Swedes in the 70s is going to win him silverware.

Really hope Newcastle don't get Debauchy. He's been quality IMO.

Well he doesn't get much of a game either tbf.

For a good reason. Both have to be among worst players to be in any squad.

Henderson really unlucky there, the ref really is giving nothing to England.

Bit pissed off with Blanc taking so long to introduce fresh legs/ideas

Gerrard has been rock solid for england

Blanc happy with the draw also maybe

Two players who can definitely make something happen though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 630 ✭✭✭bwatson

Oh now come on referee. Henderson to his credit actually got the ball and you gave a free kick against him?

    He has been seriously poor.

Benzema's shot was definitely going for the top corner there

Idiotic from Ribery. Space down that left!

England actually look a decent team at times.

Yeh, ref hasn't done England any favours.

I hope England do well. Have money on the draw so would be happy with as is. Also how can anybody support the French after henrys robbery!

    England really are horrendous.

Ribery is so selfish with the ball

really? only one team has tried to win this game in the 2nd half...england have been very poor in my opinion....they are sitting back happy with not losing the game.

oh and france are not great either.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,924 ✭✭✭wonderfullife

It's tight but probably the worst game of the tournament. Every time France have the ball in the England half there are 9 behind the ball. France not offering much either.

Does Hart not want to win the game?

England actually look a decent team at times.

Consistent poor touch, bad runs being made, wrong passes chosen. They don't look very good at all and I'm sure they'll be quite happy with 1-1.

Does Hart not want to win the game?

    Does he fcuk!

Have you seen how they have been playing?

Play for the draw all day long

    Gutsy performance from England :D

England deserve nothing from this, no ambition whatsoever.

France actually don't look like they want to win either tbh

    No urgency at all

I really hope, a team scores the first goal against England. We'll see what they are made of then.

Blanc to take the draw, build up the confidence against the group minnows I suppose.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,133 ✭✭✭Stevecw

Ok draw it is, seriously lacked some Andy Carroll tho.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,521 ✭✭✭Giggsy11

England CMs were so poor they couldn't string 2 passes together or retain possession. No wonder whole team defends deep and gets dominated by every team.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Yay its a draw :) as predicted

Mind you the ref was giving England nothing today.

The French were more fluent but most of the time England were equal to them and overall did okay.

Looks like Woy looked at Spains 6 man midfield and put his own take on it.

Boring, boring game, made worse by ITV's whiney commentary, hopefully Sweden and Ukraine can put the two of these teams out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,052 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

All in all, a good result for England. A shame they didn't really make any effort to try to take advantage of the very obvious weaknesses in the French back four.

Against France in the first game of the tournement, I guess the system is somewhat forgivable. However knowing Roy, I expect the team to be equally defensive and unambitious against the Ukraine and Sweden.

A point against clearly the best side in the group in the opening game. You can use those smile faces all you like but its far preferable to trying to match a side who are far better technically and being convincingly beaten, as happened to your side last night.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,988 ✭✭✭SirDelboy18

Clive Tyldesley is one insufferable fool though. England looked as likely as France to nick it?

20 shots to 5. I'm muting it the next time England are on.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 25,953 ✭✭✭✭kryogen

Disappointed in France though if I'm honest, as I said at the start, I thought they would struggle if England came for the draw and they did. No urgency with them either, seemed to settle for the draw with 20 minutes to go, this applys to the manager also who could have made changes to put the pressure on England

England should be delighted though, another draw against Sweden and a win v the Ukraine and they might get through
